Gonna take a bit of getting used too.

My browser still freezes when I log into my uni account, have to use IE for that. Which is annoying.

You guys are crazy

forget that Titans skin I know SwingingFriar (guy who made it) I'll have him update it for you.

As for the browser itself. It's the best thing since sliced bread.

All I needed was my tab mix plus and ad block plus add on and I was set.

What exactly did they add on???

that first thing with the keyword is what pisses me off. i used to just type "m" and myspace would be the first thing that would come up in the nav bar, but now EVERYTHING that has an "m" in it comes up.

So would you guys recommend i just stick with firefox 2?

i just don't like change.

if you take advantage of all the customizable options and such, i guess it would be an upgrade, but i liked firefox 2 a lot better.

I only bothered with the first 5-6 minutes but that was the worst rubbish I've ever seen.
Now I like Firefox, but like bigtitan said the keyword search in the URL is going to suck big time. Adding tags to favorites and searching on those, fair enough, don't see myself ever using it but I can see the justification.
And the dude is raving about undo, redo and keyboard shortcuts, that ain't new....

I've been playing around with this on an older mac laptop and like what I'm seeing so far. But, then again, I was good with the previous version.

It's just going to take some time getting used to. I'm not sure if you know it or not BigTitan but you can turn off the "Awesome Bar"

You know what sucks is that for some odd reason the flashplayer plugin is gone, and it says there is no upgrade, so I cant hear my friends songs on myspace, or watch ANY video on the web

I know I'm going to get roasted for this, bit I have no problems with IE7. It loads fast, everything loads, no crashes... it's all good. I tried Firefox, back in the "internet explorer 5" days, the only thing I really liked about it was tabbed browsing, but ie has that now, so meh.

Nice rant from another site:
Firefox is two things:

1. A Marketing Campaign. Tell people that IE is "scary" and convince them to switch to save their data, their privacy, and their identity.

2. A De-Featured Browser. Make Firefox semi-immune to viruses and spyware by removing all the functionality and code that viruses and spyware use to get onto a computer.

If Microsoft wanted to make a 100% "safe" browser, they too could strip out all the functionality. But by doing so they'd be releasing Netscape 2.0 circa 1997. And that's what Firefox is. Good ol' defeated Netscape Navigator. A decade old browser without any functionality.

Oh, and if you put those functions back in? Yup. Just as subsceptible to those same viruses and spyware that IE is. And you'd better put those functions back in or every website you visit won't work. The web is a lonely experience with no images, no text, no video, no audio, no nothing.

Dorks use Firefox because they're told to by the same marketers that brought you the Mac. Dorks are internet savvy enough to avoid viruses and spyware by visiting the right sites and using basic tools to prevent issues.

Not sure about all of that, but it does have a certain ring of truth to it.

I got my FireFox 2 theme for 3 and now I love it. I didn't like the default theme..

Thing about 3 is. It takes up less memory then 2 plus it handles flash and stuff MUCH better. No lag at all.

Any skin recommendations? I feel the default is a bit dark.

Who knew TitanJeff was so hung up on skin color?

Next thing you know is he'll admit to segregating his whites and colors when washing his clothes... :nono:

I have an older Firefox (2.0?). If I dl the new 3.0, will it overwrite or erase my older version? Just want to keep both in case I don't like the new one as much.

Thats what I'm scared of as well. I'm just going to keep the older version until I hear some good reports from 3.0, which I have yet to hear.

It will replace 2.0, but I like it so far.

I use the nasa night-launch one, but if you think the default is too dark, this is probably a bad recommendation.
