SUMMARY: Last but not least, let's take a look at the first week of Titans training camp for the defensive secondary.

Cornerback
Cortland Finnegan: I think he'd be ready if the regular season started next week. He's raised the bar on his game to the point where he seems to beat himself up over any ball which is caught in his vicinity. He's faced Justin McCareins quite a bit and has won more than his share of the battles. I don't want to overblow the praise but Finnegan is looking like he will be a starting CB for the Titans for years to come.

Again, very nice article. I really Hope gets back to his 2007 form by the beginning of the season. We're in trouble if he does not. Griff and Finny seem to be the cornerstones of the secondary for a long time to come. Odds are this is Harper's last year starting here.

Thanks for another great article TJ. I remain most concerned about our CB's- especially in our division. I hope our DL is disruptive enough to prevent Garrard, Manning and Schaub having enough time to hit big WR's. I'm glad to hear Griffin is progressing nicely as I believe we'll need him to assist with TE's and seams.

I am now glad that Griffin got some serious work at CB last year. I think that has made a big difference in his coverage skills.

Hope said in an article last week that he did get into some of the hitting when the team was in full pads Tuesday afternoon but preferred to not hit "until it counted".

I wasn't sure what to make of that. Obviously, he's thinking about the injury (as anyone would) but I wondered if it won't make him a little hesitant when it does count. He'll be one I try to watch Saturday night though he may not get much work.
