SUMMARY: Though the fights in yesterday's practices with the Rams got much of the attention, one of the bigger stories of the day was the work of Vince Young. "It's that competition. That's the thing I've found out about Vince is that when the lights go on, he thrives for competition," Alge Crumpler said. "He made some great throws, and we spread the ball around and did some things well." Over the course of two practice sessions, Young completed 49 of 63 passes with only one interception. At one point in the afternoon practice he completed nine consecutive passes, and 12 of 13 including a 40-yard pass to Roydell Williams.

A very good sign. Then again, it is the Rams. :hmm:

It is good for Vince's confidence to get some positive results. I doubt anybody believes the Rams D is as good as ours and probably near the bottom of the league. Nonetheless- a good confidence booster.

I think VY rocking against the Rams (after being mediocre in camp) has as much (if not more) to do with the fact that our first string D is just awesome than it has to do with VY's competitive nature.
That is a win-win for us. Our D rocks and VY is looks to be pretty darn good. That could be a lethal combination for other teams this year.

I'm taking this with a HUGE grain of salt.

My thoughts exactly. Besides, were talking about practice. I would like to see what he does throughout the pre season. Should give us a better idea of what to expect.

It's a step... if he can't do it in practice he's never going to do it in a game. Doesn't mean it's guaranteed, but it sure means he's making progress and I'll take that. Confidence is a big deal with any QB, and especially a young QB - the more he can feel like he can make those throws the more he'll be able to.
