I got one nice Hawkins auto RC for $4. I'm not willing to get PW stuff until he makes the roster. I'm not convinced he will pan out. I hear Hawkins is the real deal though. Plus, low risk, high reward.

You got raped on the box break, I might open a big price one late this season, Ill have to see if I like any products this year first, like the WIlliams patch Auto and Griffin playoffs auto pickups, I always loved the Donruss Playoff collection

Just be patient and grab what you can afford. Try to take a break once in a while so you can save up a bit of cash to grab something a little nicer, but otherwise just have fun... that's the point I think.

The Titans don't have a ton of collectors so if you can stay away from players that speculators are buying usually you can get a good deal (whether it's now or two years from now). I'm worried that a strong Chris Johnson performance on Saturday night is going to bring a ton of "investment" buyers in on his cards and drive the prices out of whack for a while. His stuff is relatively cheap at the moment... he wasn't even included in the "top twenty rookies of 2008 to collect" in a recent Beckett publication (and when you consider that traditionally the most collected players are RB's and QB's it shows you just how little hobby interest there is in the Titans RB).

If you bought the Roos card off a bulk seller don't be shocked if it's a little slow in coming. 99% of the time it'll get there, but the seller probably does mailouts once or twice a week.

How did you bend your card you dork? I remember hunting all over the place for an Eddie George SP Rookie; it's a red foil beauty, but the foil makes it really condition sensitive. I found a mint one a local card show (unbelievably)... after haggling with the guy I snag the card and a brand new holder for it. When I went to grab the card out of the old top loader I dropped it and of course it fell straight down and landed on a corner... giving it a nasty ding... still makes me burn a little just thinking about it.

I love the old Crown Royal McNairs... they did a cool looking Blue foil parallel of that card that's not tooo pricey when it come up for auction (but it was a pretty tough pull). There's also an even tougher Copper version, that doesn't score quite as high on the eye candy rating.

Card lots are great when you can find a bunch you want.

I love the lots, seeing as they were so cheap. The VY was from a low feedback seller, but it was a great transaction.

this nice thing about busting packs is you get cards of guys you would otherwise never buy. It brings some variety to the collection and gets you to pay a little more attention to players you might not have.

Nice cards on this post and the other post.

They fit the size of graded cards, which I have a few of. But before, the cards were just in stacks on my desk, so it's nice to have someplace to put them.
