I figured this could be the official thread for NPNs over here.

I'm new to NPNs, so I was shocked to find an evenlope from UD sitting in my mailbox today. I opened it up and I saw this: http://i530.photobucket.com/albums/dd348/vslyke/Up%20For%20Trade/IMG_6129.jpg
which was pretty exciting. I figured it was just a base rookie, but that's good stuff for free. Luckily I was wrong. Fip it over and:

:shocked::beerbang:
I don't think my feet have touched the ground yet.

Basically, it's a free contest that you enter through the mail or the Internet (for Upper Deck only). They hold drawings to determine who gets prizes, and they send out the cards to the winners.

NPN = No purchase necessary

Wow... amazing card V. Is it numbered?

Are you going to try to flip it for a sweet CJ or are you going to keep it for the collection?

Didn't realize they gave away such sweet stuff... congrats.

51/60!!! :))

I'm thinking about selling it. There have been 4 of them sold. $80, 90, 100, and 200!!! I'm thinking about sending it to Beckett for grading, figuring I could get 150-250 for it as long as it doesn't come back with an 8 or anything. I figure I can get an iTouch and some other stuff. Thoughts?

Got to try it. You get some lower stuff most of the time, but the possibility of getting something sweet is there.

I read a NPN article about a year and a half ago in Beckett hockey, their results were amazing, they pulled Gordie Howe autos, Rookie patches, some amazing stuff, if I get back into pack buying Im going to start NPNs. The odds of getting the same great cards are just as good as it says on the pack

Still a little confused. How does it work?

It's just a way for the card companies to promote. You sign up, and either you win or you don't. It sounds too good to be true, but it isn't. Sure, most of the time you won't get anything special, but it's all for free, so why not?

I entered in the 2008 SP ROOKIE THREADS FOOTBALL NPN.

Do you enter more than one at a time?

You can only enter each one once. All the other entries get thrown out. But you can enter all of them once.

For more NPNs, next time you buy a pack of cards, read the back, the fine print

Thanks. I don't buy packs anymore. But interesting. I just feel like most do, that the pack while more fun, almost costs as much money as just buying the cards you are looking for on e-bay. So why even bother buying a pack only to be dissappointed. But the NPN thing is a nice deal if true.

I had my doubts as well. Needless to say, those are long gone. :brow:

I did too.

I buy some packs. Heck everytime I go to my local store I pick up the same pack of Press Pass rookies. 2.99....a pack. I have about half the set. But no titans..lol. Some nice ones though. Got a Felix Jones/Mcfadden one that is nice.
