I ran into Jared tonight and we had a nice conversation in a personal setting. He's a really nice guy, still lives here (for the moment). He personally told me that management never even spoke to him or even made an offer. Webster did what he did.... Jared wanted to stay, but zero contact.......he does read the boards and doubted me when I told him that he really does have supporters.

Jared.....as I mentioned, good luck in LA in 2015. Tell Fish to "Fight On", the witch is dead!

Don't all of the ones who leave say, "the FO never even offered me anything."

I honestly didn't think any of them read the boards. Now I'm almost positive one of them has an account. The VY account rumors may just be true after all.

FWIW, he had my support, but not when it came to the crazy asking price. If we could've tagged him as a TE and not a WR, then I would've been fine with it. It's hard to get support when you ask to be traded during the season and demand a ton of money when you've never been a consistent threat to defenses. There were too many 0-1 catch games which is unacceptable for a TE who's supposed to be great in the passing game and weak at blocking.

Well I have no doubt he and Finnegan were telling the truth. It was all about their asking prices. No point in making an offer when they know what the player's price tag is.

I loved Finny and wanted us to franchise him and go from there, but 5 year/$50mil is too much for him IMO... Just as 5 year/$35mil is too much for Cook.

I don't know if he reads this particular board, but he was well aware of what the Monday morning "experts" say about him. He looked me in the eye and said he was never even approached by the Titans. He wasn't mad, he understood and said it was just business. he got a 5 year deal from the Rams.

On a personal level, Im sure Cook is an awesome person. I have heard form several people who have talked to him on the streets and they all say the same thing. Impossible not to like.

    BUT....

I did not support Cook in any way during this. Not after he asked to be traded and this team was already struggling. You wanted to up and bail while this team was struggling to find its identity. I eventually got over that, and knew that he would be an asset to this team and was find and happy with the tag or reasonable contract. Then you showed that you didnt even want to try to negotiate (WR tag, remember that little incident?) We love our TEAM, we dont love our Cook.

On a side note, if he does read this. I find it truly pathetic for him to walk around this town and blame his release on this organization, (even if its just this one person) considering you did everything you could to make sure you were not here next season.

If he wanted more chances to get the ball in his hand, fine. If he wanted to be with Fisher, fine. If he wanted to be with a contender, fine. I can live with all of that. Its the FA, its life. But saying he wanted to stay "but the organization didnt want him" is complete horse ****. Dont spit on your girlfriend then wonder why she wont kiss you

Basically OP, either cook is retarded (which I dont believe that is the case) or he manipulated the conversation and was just being nice to you, as a fan, when he told you he wanted to stay.

    Its clear he didnt

Hopefully you got his autograph at least.

Sheeesh......I heard it directly from the horses mouth, not a blogger.

You guys can go ahead and believe the internet bloggers if you want. Of course BB's, search engines, geeks, wannabe's and bloggers always know and report the facts.....never rumors.

its a fact the JC and his agent manipulated the expiration of his contract/entry into UFA status.

In this case I do believe the Titans did not make an offer. Whats the point in setting JCs low bar other teams must get over when he has already made it clear he no longer wants too play in Tennessee?

If JC had learned to run better routes and block worth a damn he would have been a Titan for life. Instead of being "a little better than ben troupe" type of player.
