No one will ever touch Rice?!?! Rice is just the Brett F. of WR's! If you play long enough of course you will break records. Calvin already broke his record for most receiving yards and he is just at the beginning of his prime!

Of course. But that's a huge number and my point was the Titans aren't going to pay it.

If Britt balls out this year, you better believe it that we would at least franchise him. Especially if we sniff the playoffs this year!

I think thats the only way he comes back next year. Goes balls to the wall and breaks out like a freak. Say 1500-yards and 10TD's

and of course if he delivers that type of performance, we're in the playoffs.

Have you ever heard of the salary cap?!?!

Right now we have an estimated cap number of 119 million for the 2014 season without adding in our rookie contracts this season. The estimated salary cap for 2014 is 124 million. So we are going into the 2014 season with a little over 5 million dollars. The franchise tag for a WR is over 10 million dollars which is a lot of money for us who (no matter how good he does next season) is no where near a guarantee to play 16 games. There is also the possibly the Britt chooses to hold out until he has a long term deal and that would be disastrous for our team.

Now there are moves that we could make to free up cap room: cutting Nate Washington, Eugene Amano, Kamerion Wimbley, Michael Griffin, Craig Stevens, Lavelle Hawkins, and Chris Johnson would create about 25 million in cap room but that is money we need to spend upgrading our team and resigning some of our younger players.

In the next 3 seasons we have a number of players leaving our defense:

    2014
    Benard Pollard

    2015
    Ayers
    Casey
    McCarthy

    2016
    Morgan
    Martin
    Brown
    Hill

On that list I see 4 players that will most likely be major contributors here in Tennessee (Martin, Ayers, Morgan, Brown) and there is also Velasco to worry about. Not to mention if Jake Locker takes off we will need to be ready to resign him to a long term deal (2015).

If he sucks this year and cant stay healthy I will be done with him and will have lost all hope. This is his last chance I'm giving him.
