Just 135 days removed from knee surgery. Discuss. Could be an option if we trade down or maybe with our second. I like him but he had the ACC player of the year lined up across from him so he got plenty of single teams.

Garbage. Carradine is a lot better than Werner. Way more consistent, athletic and better hustle. The only reason Carradine didn't start from day one was Brandon Jenkins.

I wouldn't call any player who was named ACC DPOY garbage regardless of what you think his pro career will be. 13 sacks 18 tfl 8 pdef if that constitutes the word garbage I want more garbage players on my team. You must think Carradine's stats are garbage as well but his pro career will be successful?

Carradine is extremely intriguing and probably the only guy I would be fine passing on a WR on in the second for. Assuming we take Cooper/Warmack of course.

Yeah after seeing his recovery come along I'm a lot more at ease with taking him if we move down to the 20's or if he slips to our second round pick. I'd be interested in seeing his 10yd split but a 4.75 without being fully recovered is impressive. I think we are going to grab Cooper in the first unless it is a smokescreen, we are high on intangibles as well as team captains and from all accounts he has them. I don't buy the LG to RG switch as a difficult one. I wish Cooper was stronger on the field but he was said to be the best pulling G by his coach who has exp. at the NFL level and was athletic enough to play FB. He has grown on me.

    Now back to Tank.

I didn't call Werner garbage, I called your reasoning garbage.

As far as Werner's numbers though, he had six and a half sacks in the first three weeks against Murray State, Savannah State and Wake Forest then went MIA for four weeks until Miami. Werner went eight games without getting to the QB in 2012. There's a reason he's gone from a top-ten pick to a possible second rounder throughout the process, he's just not elite pass rusher.

Carradine, on the other hand, went three games without a sack until he got hurt(missed ACCCG and Orange Bowl) and lead the team in tackles up to that point as well. Dude is a beast.

I was the driver of the Carradine bandwagon in September and maintained it until he tore his ACL.

Also remember that Cooper was forced by his coaches to play at 285 all of last season. Shortly after the end of the season he shot back up to his more natural weight of 312, he's only going to get bigger and stronger as his season progresses. That alone will make a huge difference in his ability to maul guys.I know many have decided that his 35 bench reps at the combine mean nothing but I disagree mainly because he was an outstanding wrestler and wrestlers are well known to be able to transfer gym strength to practical strength. We can't go wrong if we take a guard in the first this year.

Not sure how my reasoning is garbage. The fact of the matter is he had the ACC DPOY lining up opposite him getting much of the attention. I never said he was bad or it deters from his season I'm simply pointing something out that is fact. I even said I would be for taking him if we trade down or the second. Sorry my factual observation is garbage but regardless of Werner's sack drought he was still seeing doubles since he was racking up sacks early on which is partially what his dip in numbers for a few games could be attributed to.

It's similar to the argument people make against Milliner how much did the players around him inflate his numbers. Right or wrong I simply pointed it out but I never took off and ran with it like that's the only reason why he was successful.

The point that is trying to be made is that Carradine can hold his own and doesn't need the benefit of Werner across from him to have success. Carradine would probably be at worst a top 15 pick if it wasn't for his injury and I would still rather have him than Werner. Werner is a solid player but like Fry said if someone interested in him goes through his numbers a bit more and watches more of his game then you can see the numbers don't really reflect how he did for an entire season and how his draft stock is continuing to trend downward.

Carridine at 39 looks really good.

Many of you probably have noticed that Justin hunter is moving up the charts. Mayock didn't even have him in his top 5 before now he has him 3rd. So the chances of hunter still being there at 39 is getting less.

Hopkins could also come off before we pick and with both those guys gone you have to go with the best defensive player.

Carridine, Jones would fit that definition. Both good solid football players not just pas rushers. Jones at 283 is big enough and strong enough to play inside for us full time.
