The pick is growing on me, just think about 3 months ago when everyone was dying for Chance Warmack. Then we begin to believe that he wouldn't be available at #10. RG was our biggest need, easily. There was a ton of guards reached on Pugh, Long, & Frederick for example. We couldn't wait until the 2nd round; obviously Munchak loved this guy and didn't want Warford for example in the 2nd. Our line is much better now and should help our entire team.

Still, taking a guard in the Top-10 always raises questions for me....... but in this draft, we had too. Now lets get Tank!

For those arguing that the Titans should have gone OL in round 2 and taken a difference maker at 10... which difference maker? I don't see a difference maker they could have taken at 10. Tavon Austin was off the board. He's the only one that was available around 10. The proof is in the pudding. Teams just kept drafting OL and DL last night because this is a draft completely lacking in first round difference makers.

I fully believe the Titans would have selected a WR or CB and set aside OG until later in the draft if there was one worth taking at 10. There wasn't.

Our top skill player was pretty real excited about the pick.

Didn't last season give you an example of what impact OL has on how well those skill players do? I totally understand your mentality but I didn't see any players from "skill positions" which would have had the overall impact to improve the Titans like a steamrolling, pancake-making G will.

You improve the run game and it changes everything. It takes some pressure off Locker. It keeps your defense on the sidelines longer so it can stay fresh.

More and more teams are taking DTs high in the draft. The Titans can't expect to keep taking inferior talent in the hopes they can "coach 'em up" to keep superior talent from hitting CJ two yards behind the line of scrimmage.

lol.. on paper. Paper doesn't win many championships. We'll see if they make that big of an impact. I hope so.. expecting an average OL.

    no doubt.

But a lot of people seem to forget that the OL needs to be the most cohesive unit of any in sports, IMO. You can't piecemeal together an all-star line and expect them to be a solid unit immediately. I personally think we have subpar tackles in Stewie and Roos. I think they are past their prime, but maybe solid guards will assist them. I expect an improvement. I do not expect top few in the league.

Personally, I think this is the most boring draft since I've started watching. I'm never excited for an OL 1st round draft pick, but it's obvious that talent was lacking in every other position this year. What a weak, pathetic QB class. Weak RB class, Weak WR class. Weak LB class. Not a great DB class.

There are no exciting players in this draft, as far as we can tell. I'm sure some of them will end up good.. but this draft is awful.

So all that in consideration, I think we made an OK move with Warmack. It's not like Milliner or one of the DL would have made me stand up and shout.

Okay so Im being called out for not thinking Guard was any longer an option after signing 3 Guards in free agency, okay, thats fair.

But my reasoning for thinking that has less to do with Chance Warmack and more to do with the class as a whole. So Im not upset with taking who we did, I like Chance a lot for many reasons, we got the best guy at the posistion. How could that be a bad thing?

And after 9 offensive linemen went in the first round, there's no way you can argue this years class isn't deep at Guard, lots of Tackles taken will be made into Guards this year. So for RavensShallBurn
to say Munch was blowing smoke, well thats not accurate at all, he was right, this was a deep class for linemen. Thats all I was saying all along, that we dont have to reach for a Guard when there's so many talented ones to be had.

Say we dont take Chance at 10, say we pick somebody else, whats the worst that happens, we take Larry Warford, Dallas Thomas, or David Bakhtiari 8 picks into the 2nd round.....

All Ive ever tried to get across is there's better value than an inside O-Linemen in the first 10 picks, they just dont stand on their own enough to warrant such high picks, they get lost in the shuffle of things and work in tandem, it takes all 5 guys to have it work, theyre IMO too dependent of each other for me to love the idea of using up a top pick on one.

I know Mingo wasn't an option, but he went at 6, so you can understand me thinking if he's there at 10 then there's no way we could pass that up. But he was gone so too bad for the Mingo fans, we'll have to watch a Browns game or two.

But hey, Im on board with the Warmack pick, he'll be great for us and fix a line that was disastrous last year. You can't get far with an incompetent O-Line, we can now rest easy knowing thats been fully taken care of.

All in all - good pick
