Spiller and Charles are the only ones I'll concede are the same type of player as CJ.Ray Rice is a balanced back (best of the bunch overall though), Reggie Bush has been a huge disappointment, and Lesean McCoy doesn't compare to CJ at all IMO.

My comment in regards to the patriots really has nothing to do with winning and applies to damn near every team in the league. Very few fan bases go around talking crap about their best players like we do on this site, it doesn't happen. If our players don't get support from home where are they supposed to get it. You guys talk as if CJ is just some bum who can be replaced by any Joe Schmoe. It's absurd. None of you had a problem with him being small when he ran for 2k, did you? He wasn't too small then right? If he runs for 1500-1700 yards this season is he all of a sudden a different player? It's the same with Locker, if he balls out this season all of his haters will pretend they believed in him all along.

He probably could be replaced with Joe Schmoe. 1200 yards and six touchdowns isn't special, it's good. He's made his hay off of one fantastic season.

Chris Johnson has kind of brought this all upon himself. He threatens to holdout after the 2000 yard season and gets more money not to. He then rushes for 650 yards less and scores less touchdowns and holds out for more money while creating the infamous "playmaker" pay scale. Gets "playmaker" money after holding out, admittedly comes in out of shape and barely crosses 1000 yards after getting the most guaranteed money ever for a running back.

His on-field talent is exciting but isn't sustainable and disappears for stretches of the game while being a bit of a drama queen.

He really only has had one fantastic season. You could argue that he would have had a much better rookie season if he was the full time back, but he didn't. His season after his 2k season was solid.

Thats it, he has made himself a target. We are not the New York Jets, but if you make claims and set yourself up for criticism you are still going to get it. We are the anti-Jets. Just shut up and put up numbers and we will rally behind you. Loud guys just don't do well here.

He produced in '08, '09, 2010 and last year. He didn't rush for 2,000, but he was also getting hit in the backfield half the plays.

Who knows what its gonna look like this year with a line that's actually pushing defenders back. He's always been good at the 2nd level and he could return to dominate seasons very easily.

Man, if CJ played every team the way he plays against Buffalo.. I would sacrifice Scarecrows first born child NP.
I just hope CJ doesn't get dramatic when he has to split carries w/ another ACTUAL NFL LEVEL back.

    No

he did not produce last year, last year looked good on paper but I remember the games. He was flat out terrible last year and I would go as far to say he may have been worse than the year before.

I think it bothered CJ at 1st, but he'll realize it'll extend his career and actually help him improve as a runner. I think they'll be a good pair of backs.

It also forces defenses to play us more honest now that we have a back who's effective inside the tackles. If Hunter can develop quickly and Wright improves we could have a very complete offense.
