If this doesn't take into account the avg. yardage per completion, it doesn't make a lot of sense. Luck passed the ball downfield often. Locker hit Wright at the LOS (a play I grew to hate).

I'm not saying Locker can't have a breakout season (we all hope he can) but I don't think we need to be looking to create excuses for last season. He was hurt. He had a crappy OL. He faced a lot of nickel because the Titans played from behind. Guess what? He was also terribly inaccurate at times too.

Right, and our first five games were also against some really good teams. I agree with you, but I'm just making sure everyone knows that it wasn't for the full season haha

I've been saying for months and months Jake Locker isn't this teams issue, it's the O-Line and D-Line, and tackling that are holding us back.

If I was a NFL QB and in YEAR 1 my completion percentage was 24% 10 TDs and 15 INTs, and then in YEAR 2 my completion percentage was 39% 14 TDs and 10 TDs.

Could that be considered a personal breakout season?

If that's the case, then I'm pretty sure Locker is heading for a breakout season.

Does it take in account thr number of moments where it's 3 and 5 and locker sails the ball 3 feet over an open receivers head?

Throw away passes can be good you guys, beats taking a sack. Both Jake and Matt did a good job of not letting busted plays push them backwards last year. They knew the O-line was trash, so they had to throw a lot of balls away.

I've always said his accuracy isn't as bad as people say.

Here's what "the experts" and Locker haters here do: "Oh his completion percentage is low, he's inaccurate and he sucks."

None of "the experts" really watch Locker. And a lot of his haters on here don't either.

FWIW, I don't think Locker is that great, but he's certainly better than a lot people here give him credit for.

It's a good stat and all but I'm honestly just ready to see this guy play. I'm a big Locker supporter but we've recycled these same issues and excuses since we drafted him and talked about his college game. Now, they excuses carry weight and the issues are legitimate but if he really is going to be our future QB then he needs to show it this year. It's make or break.

I'm pretty confident he will do so, when watching him play healthy you can see that 1st round talent in him but after the injury and no OL it was a complete mess. Huge upgrade on the OL, better running game, more weapons, and a full off season of practice and learning from a new OC that will help him more than the past one and I really like our chances with him.
