Looks like we might get Abraham.

Morgan is a good DE. He really came on at the end of last year. I can't wait to see him a full season removed from injury.

Now as for Abraham ... I think he would be a good addition, but not as an every down guy. Rotational player on passing situtations is what we want anyway. We won't give big money for that.

Honestly we are just looking for 1-2 year players that we can sign until we get another draft or 2 in. Then we will be set.

Not knocking on Morgan, but Ive heard "he came on strong at the end of the year" the past two seasons.

He needs to put it all together this season. Cant knock too many people individually on our defense when the entire unit played like **** last year.

Hes already done that. He should pick-up where he left off and start out hot this season

He didn't get the sack numbers earlier in the year, but he was pretty good the entire season. Early in the year our soft coverage gave the QB a quick safety blanket every time Morgan got near. Go watch the tape. He was chasing the QB around pretty much every game last season. He only got the credit for sacks later because our defense as a whole was playing better at that point.

If we do sign Abraham, I want it to be for at least 2 years so we're not back in this same situation next year. If he gets similar production, and even 2 less sacks than he did last year, that's still more than anyone on our team last year had.

I'm afraid with Greg Williams on the coaching staff there to kick some sense into our DC & defensive players, that Morgan is going to have a break out year in his contract year. Watch him get 10-12 sacks this year and be one of the top FA's on the market. If Ruston was smart he'd sign him to an extension now while he's still fairly cheap. Not that he would sign it though.

Morgan is aight. I'm not mad he's our starter, but if there's an upgrade available, I'd go for it.

Yeh I made a huge defense of Morgan on my own earlier. But also, here is something I found on PFF myself:

Derrick Morgan, DE (16th overall pick in 2010): Quietly had an excellent 2012 season where he showed just how good a player he was a year further removed from a serious injury. Our fourth-ranked defensive end, he had only four sacks (this is for the '13 season, and its wrong should be 6.5) but his ridiculous 21 knockdowns highlight how much he hurt quarterbacks.

    As a bonus...
Alterraun Verner, CB (104th overall pick in 2010): The Titans do have a knack of finding good corners don’t they? His +23.5 grade over three years highlights this as he’s firmly locked down one of the starting spots.
