    Nothing new really, but still....

Top 10 teams benefiting from return of injured players - By Chris Wesseling (NFL.com)

    Tennessee Titans

Games missed: Linebacker Colin McCarthy (9), quarterback Jake Locker (5), offensive tackle David Stewart (4), wide receiver Kenny Britt (2)

Analysis: Locker's shoulder was an issue all season after he sustained a separation in the opener. Britt missed just two games, but his knees never were right in 2012. By all accounts, he appears to be back on track this offseason. Throw in major upgrades on the interior of the offensive line, and the Titans should have a more consistent and well-rounded offense. Getting McCarthy back at middle linebacker will help after Tennessee surrendered the most points in the NFL last season.

I'm so pumped to see what this team looks like with all our upgrades on both sides of the ball.

To be honest, I thought it was going to be Jake. But hey, I'm a huge Morgan fan, so I'm OK with that. Also, if its not going to be the QB, the next best thing would be the guy who is responsible to stop QBs - enter Morgan.

I would have thought Ayers or Brown.

I like Morgan, just don't think he will be that guy.

I think Brown or Ayres would be.

Perhaps... It very well could be Ayers or Brown.

Its exciting now that we have gotten bigger in front becuase that means our LBs should run freely. That bodes well for all three of them, including C-Mac.

If our bigger D-Line can engage offensive linemen, ALL our LBs can explode on the scene. All play extremely well in space, but they also have struggled at times getting off blocks if OL are able to advance freely to the next level. We'll have to see how it plays out.

However, with all that, I still think Morgan is our best all-around guy and a force at the DE position.

    Let's analyze:

After two subpar seasons in 2010 and 2011, defensive end Derrick Morgan turned it on in 2012. He registered 6.5 quarterback sacks, 21 quarterback hits and 42 quarterback hurries (I don't care how you look at that, that's great. Remember, our D was horrific and he barely got a chance to 'rush' the passer). Prior to the 2012 season, his career high for sacks in a season was 2.5.

Without Morgan, Tennessee’s pass rush would have been anemic. Defensive end Kamerion Wimbley hasn’t lived up to his lofty contract (true), and Akeem Ayers hasn’t been able to provide a consistent rush from his strong-side linebacker position (true - I know we didn't blitz him much, but still he wasn't very effective or rather as good as I thought he would be when we did. Sure he got some sacks with his hand in the dirt, but I wouldn't call that proven. Also, with his hand in the dirt, I DISTINCTIVELY remember him getting blown off the line sometimes - in Morgan, you have a rock at DE who seals his edge, while still rushing the passer with great strength and vastly improved finesse moves).

If Morgan could get some help from the defensive tackle position, he would have the opportunity to turn into an even bigger force off the edge (I hope Hill proves to be a monster in the middle, because if so, Morgan as well as Casey/Wimbley/Martin all stand to benefit) .
