It's definitely a great Defense. And we won't be that calibre this season no. However, that's the framework we are working under. Since fitz is apparently trash to you, who did you want us to get as a backup?

I didn't really care. I'd rather let Locker sink or swim this season. If he's terrible we're going in a new direction next year and more than likely starting over with a new coaching staff. If Locker is good or better then we don't worry about QB for the next ten years.

I don't have a problem with Fitzpatrick being #2. It's the argument that Locker loses the starting job to him that gets me. When Ryan Fitzpatrick is coming off the bench because he's better than your starter you're in trouble. He's a poor man's Jay Cutler; good enough to win you some games but he's going to lose a lot of them by himself too. You get stuck in NFL purgatory with those guys starting.

Well locker has to prove he can play big boy ball or fitz will get looks. That's gonna be the case.

I really don't think that's an issue. It's all about how you look at it I guess. What are all of these indicators that the staff doesn't have faith in the QB?

Someone started a thread in the middle of the free agency frenzy that all of the signings indicated a lack of faith in Locker. I don't know how people draw that conclusion. We signed offensive linemen, a tight end, defensive personnel and a QB to take the spot of our 38-year old backup. To me, this offseason has been about putting the pieces around Locker to ensure he has everything to succeed, not hide the position.

This staff has never really tried to hide the position. Locker comes in off the bench behind in a handful of games his rookie year and he gets us back in them. In his first three starts last season Locker threw the ball 30+ times.

It's not about playing "big boy football" or trying to hide the QB like the Jets did. The Jets never did anything to help Sanchez. What did they do to give him weapons? Bring in Plaxico Burress? Yeah, great job.

I fully agree. I don't think we are trying to hide the qb or really have a disconnect with faith in him. I think however, if he flops. Bad. And just proves he can't play.... Fitz will get looks. He's a capable backup.

I think we are trying to formulate a solid game plan and design everything in his image. We will sink if locker doesn't play up to par, that's evident. The run game is us just getting more back to our roots, and this will be the first year in a long while that I can remember us playing more man on defense. I'm pretty friggin excited about that.

I already said we have a more talented Offense. We are built differently than the jets on defense as well and have much more talent in the WR corp. This should be considered a good thing. They got it done with that? How do we not drive forward with some success with our talent??

And it is big boy football because the difference is making our WR corps worth the picks we've spent on them. If he can't throw the ball when it matters, then we are screwed and our talent goes to waste.

I agree. Hopefully, Locker will be the man and be our QB for years to come. But I believe Fitzy will do better with us than he did with the Bills. The guy is smarter than most QB's and is very athletic too.

His best year was with Edwards and Holmes. Amazing how that happens. Then the Jets let Edwards go and replaced him with a guy just let out of prison and then proceeded to put more on Sanchez's plate. That organization is run by a bunch of monkeys.
