Titans Rank #28 Defense Heading Into '13

    ... According to Yardbarker.com

Just one site's opinion but makes for some debate in the slow off-season of the NFL.

I seen a recent Bernard Pollard forum post and I am getting more excited about the attitude that he will no doubt bring to a bland 2012 defense.

I forgot that the Titans never held any of its 2012 opponents under 19 points except one - Miami held to ONLY 3 points.

Bernard Pollard will bring some hard-hitting and swagger to a swagger-less 2012 defense as a core. I see the Titans defense ranking more in the low 20's like 21-22 range opposed to the late 20's. Almost anything will be an improvement though; however still not keen on keeping DC Jerry Gray around, so a huge improvement is not to be expected.

I agree with most of the list with the exception of a few (mainly Chicago being #1), but I will say that we have a good chance to REALLY improve our ranking in this list.

Hopefully our offense will help keep the defense off the field as much as possible, and likewise for the defense to get more 3 and outs.

I've said this time and again, but we're going to be really surprised at how much the defense improves when our time of possession improves. We were last in the NFL in that stat last year and having Greene to pick up the short yards to keep drives alive will do wonders for that number, especially when he's running behind Warmack or Levitre.

I'm convinced that a LOT of our defensive problem last year was they were gassed before halftime and they were WAY too conservative. I think the newly improved o-line and the addition of Greg Williams to blitz the crap out of the other teams is going to help tremendously.

We also held the Jets to 10 points... not that that's saying much.

But yea... It seemed like we pretty much gave up 30 points every game.

the other problem was we had no big personalities, nobody to take over a moment. And now we do.
