last time I flew I got stuck between the guy who drank just enough to be obnoxious and not know it, and the woman who is oblivious to the fact I am annoyed and the guy across from me is hitting on her. Hit some pretty nasty turbulence into BNA and found out two people life stories.......

I used to be afraid of flying as a kid, but my love for traveling overcame my fear. There's a whole another world outside America, man, go and see it. You can't live your life in a glass booth. Sure, there's a chance of you being in a plane crash, but chances of that happening is no greater than getting hit by a car, getting cancer or getting shot.

Once you start experiencing different cultures and countries, staying in American gets quite dull.

I've been around Europe and to a majority of the states and Canada.

    I get around.

My irrational fear doesn't stop me. That's what drugs and alcohol are for.

Oh yeah, I can't travel without alcohol. When I get to a stop over airport first thing I am looking for is the bar.

flying is awesome besides the waiting at the airport and the prices.

Be real: how many people do you know that have been killed in a car crash, or have friends with people close to them who have been killed in a car crash?

On the other hand, how many people do you know that have died in a commercial jetliner crash?

Millions of people fly every day, and you hear every single story of someone dying in a plane crash in the entire country. If they reported on every fatal car crash, there could be a 24/7 news station devoted to only that. They could fill up an entire day, every day.

A logical person would be more afraid of driving or riding in a car. People are morons on the road. Vast majority of people flying airplanes have gone through extensive training to fly. You are way safer in the hands of pilots. Plus it's unlikely that a drunk pilot is going to T-Bone you in the middle of the air. It's a legitimate danger on the roads.

When you are flying, your life is in the hands of a trained pilot. In the car, your life is in your own hands, and anyone else who may be drunk or driving erratically. I just think it's funny that people will drive 90 down an interstate without blinking, run red lights to get to work on time, but fear for their lives on an airplane. It's simply because of movies, TV, and the over-covering of plane crashes that we have these fears.

If you are ever in anything resembling a plane crash, you simply just have horrible luck.. because millions of people fly every day.
