I think this is where football is heading. When you have our silly ass President of the country saying he wouldn't let his kid play football, it makes people question the safety of the game.

I think for the NFL to stay the top sports league in America, this sort of thing has to happen, They need to protect the merchandise, and this would do exactly that.

Let's face it, guys lie so they can keep playing. Then turn around and sue the league when their brains turn to mush. Those guys who are dumb enough to play through a concussion need this, it would take the decision out of everyone's hands, and protect the players.

I don't see this happening unless they put the device into the helmets. Don't think its right to force guys to wear a mesh cap if they don't want to. I think VY would be fine with it though.

I always wore a cap under my helmet, made getting that thing on and off so much easier. It also gave me a snug fit, less moving of the helmet.

If you give a player a tool like this it will only improve the quality of the game.

When James Harrison got his new bullet proof helmet, he said nothing hurts anymore, he only feels pressure when he hits guys. This goes hand in hand with that technology.

All this safety crap is ruining football. You go out, knock the crap outta people, and get concussions... that's football. It happens. Get over it.

Seems easy to fix the head injury issues to me. A 4ft globe helmet packed in peanuts should do the trick.

In my opinion, if your going to play football you understand the risks from the moment you step on a high school field. I had my fair share of them and spent some time in the hospital over one which actually gave me a slight skull fracture. The scariest one I have ever seen happened to our left guard. I was in the huddle calling the play (linebacker) and he comes running into the middle of us looks at me and says "hey John whats the play?". John was our quarterbacks name....I looked at the other linebacker confused as hell as what to do and about that time he passed out.He was carted off the field in a Gator and taken to the hospital. It scared the hell out of all of us and even the other team when they found out what had happened.

The **** is real and it needs to be addressed. Rather we like it or not the NFL and football in general is going to safety route, as well as the rest of the world we live in. There is not much we can do about it, other than hope it does not take too much away from the game. It's not going to go back to the way it was. With this, if they can adapt it to work with the pads inside the helmet, I don't think it will.

Guys are always going to lie about rather or not they have been hit too hard. You don't want to seem like a ***** or give the guy that hit you that much more satisfaction. A system like this that forces you to the sideline for a play or two to give you a quick doctors evaluation, does not seem like a bad thing imo, as compared to some of the alternatives.
