Texans defensive lineman J.J. Watt had two sacks and four quarterback hits against the Titans, doing some of the damage against rookie guard Chance Warmack.

According to Pro Football Focus, Warmack was responsible for allowing two of the Texans’ four sacks. Warmack acknowledged he made some mistakes, but he didn’t leave Houston thinking Watt was unstoppable.

“He’s just another guy, a talented dude, but he puts his helmet on just like me,” Warmack said on Monday. “I am not going to give him any more credit than he deserves. He’s a talented player. But everybody has a weakness, and he does too.”

Watt had 20.5 sacks last season, when he was NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

The Titans and Warmack face the Texans and Watt again on Dec. 29 at LP Field. Asked if the Titans need to do a better job if finding Watt’s weaknesses by then, Warmack replied:

“He did (have some success). But that’s football. You are going to get beat. There are some plays where he got beat, so that’s the game. You can’t get concerned with the name.”

It'll be interesting to see how Warmack does later in the season with more experience when he faced Watt again.

I like his attitude. We should be much improved come Week 17. Will be the perfect way to roll into the playoffs. Hopefully we're competing for the division.

I can't wait to see what happens in week 17. See if Warmack learns a thing or too. I would love to see a Warmack/Watt match up similar to the Eddie George Ray Lewis one where Eddie stiff arms Ray to the ground.

Good thing we used the 10th overall pick on a guard, huh ;-)

I have full confidence Warmack will ascend to dominance and be worth the #10 overall.

I heard some audio of Warmack talking about Watt (maybe this same interview) and was impressed with his attitude. He owned up to getting beat and said he's gotta keep working.

But when asked about his next meeting with Watt in week 17 he simply said "I won't be a rookie then". (Technically he will, but you get the point)

I'm holding off on complaining about that until it's clear one way or another on whether he's good or not. But if that guy has anything less than a Munchak-type career I'll consider it a disappointment. "Good" guards are a dime a dozen.

Leroy Harris said the same thing about Watt after giving up two sacks. If you get your ass handed to you just take it and shut up.

    Exactly.
