http://espn.go.com/college-football...a-sports-stop-producing-college-football-game This really was a long time coming. EA has had more than their fair share of free lunches off the world of college football. College football is getting and will continue to get messy for the next several years as all the various entities therein try to get their fair share of the insane amount of money flowing into college football these days. I am confident after all the smoke clears (in like 10 years) we will have a better product for all involved (except maybe the universities that basically have free labor right now). EA NCAA Football has not been a good game in a LONG time. It's time that crap game died for a while.
It could be done SO much better. Really.. put someone on it that actually cares about wowing people rather than just cranking out the same old garbage for a paycheck
It would be great if a gaming company would get the rights every 5-6 years, and then have to renew it. ALSO... a year or two prior to that company having to renew, another company gets the rights and causes competition. Then the renewable process becomes a true competition of who's better. EA got lazy with the rights and never bothered improving the product, except at their own pace. I mean, why bother? You have a monopoly. People will still buy it because they WANT their NCAA Football game. A few players will drop off - but it won't be too noticeable. Love this.
I know it won't ever happen. But it would be cool if ea released a dlc with the playoff system, plus App State, Georgia Southern and UNC Charlotte. The last sub division teams that are moving up. That would hold me over till another company did one.
