I know some people are going to flip out for me even suggesting it. But let me throw some stats your way real quick. (I've already posted this in another thread but now I've updated them to include today's game).

    Chris Johnson 2013:
    - On 94 carries, he has 1 run of 20+ yards (23) - 1%
    - On 94 carries, he has 6 runs of 10+ yards - 6%
    - On 94 carries, he has 59 runs of 3 yards or less - 63%
    - On 94 carries, he has 27 runs of 0 or negative yardage - 29%
    - 2.8ypc on the season

    Another factoid:
Jake Locker, Jackie Battle, and Ryan Fitzpatrick all have longer runs on the season than the "Playmaker".

Look closely at those stats. Basically, damn near 1 out of every 3 of CJ's runs are going nowhere or backwards. And his whole thing is being a "homerun hitter" but we're now heading into the 6th game out of 16 and he hasn't even done it once. I know he had the long reception today but we all know that's a rarity. And your RB needs to be an effective runner first and foremost.

I've really tried to give CJ the benefit of the doubt this season. But the bottom line is he's just not getting it done. Not even close. And sure, the OL still has issues but if you ask me that's ALL THE MORE REASON to make the switch to a more physical, grinding-type back. The wide open run lanes simply aren't there.

What are we doing here? Protecting CJ's ego?

At what point does ACTUAL production outweigh "big play POTENTIAL"????

***For the sake of this poll, let's assume Shonn Greene is actually healthy.***

doesnt matter who the starter is, but he needs to be splitting carries 50/50 with Greene when he comes back.

The line still needs work but even so CJ is mediocre at best and a drain on the cap for what little he brings to the table anymore. We'll send him packing at the end of this season.

CJ clearly has lost his dynamic speed these days. It was actually evident on his 49 yard TD catch. He becomes nothing to this team the day he loses his speed, and that's clearly what he has done.

To his defense, he really didn't have a chance today, because the Chiefs were in the backfield every time he touched the ball.

Honestly, a CJ run is a wasted down these days. I'm still waiting on his 75 TD run. This -1,1,1,0,-2,4,-2,1,1,1 then the 75 TD run is getting really old now.

Shonn Greene? Jackie Battle? Could they really do much worse? Battle had double the production on half the carries as compared to CJ today.

I agree on the OL. But like I said in the first post, the fact that the OL isn't getting it done is all the more reason to switch to a more physical back if you ask me. Might as well have a guy in there who can run people over. Because the wide open run lanes simply aren't there and CJ is not making people miss.
