Jackie Battle is trash. He had a nice pre season and scored our lone TD from the goal line in a horrible offensive game against the winless Steelers. CJ is our best RB, Greene needs to stay healthy. Also, we're not going to bench CJ...just being realistic. I'm more worried about our OL than our RB situation at this point. I'm not defending CJ too much or being a fan boy but seriously our OL has been pretty bad generating any holes.

I agree almost entirely. But I'd just add that while CJ may be our most talented back, that doesn't necessarily mean he's the best fit for the scheme/gameplans we're running. If we're just going to run it up the gut time and time again then I'd much prefer Greene or Battle to be out there. That's just me being honest.

There's a definite disconnect between the strengths of our starting RB and how we're attempting to use him.

Every hand off I saw today he was being hit in the backfield. Seems like a line issue not CJ.

So the original post slams CJ then your next posts lighten up on CJ and suggest its a mix of other things.

CJ's effort is nonexistent ..even with a bad line, he could run HARD and at least ****ing try. He's just waiting for the line to do everything instead of him making plays on his own. It's like a returner standing still while the blockers try to give him a 10 yard running lane. Just no effort.

That's just it. The original post is slamming his production. This isn't something personal with CJ. What we're doing is not working. I think we're all in agreement there.

Something needs to change. Honestly, I'd like to see us get creative with our playcalling before sitting CJ on the bench but that seems like a pipe dream at this point. So yeah, I'd rather see Greene or Battle running up the gut all game long than CJ. Crazy I know.

I say cut ties with both of our OTs in The offseason. I wanna see CJ run the ball to the outsides as much as anyone, but Stewart and Roos are not exactly pancaking defensive linemen. Chance is learning on the fly. Good news, Warmack will become perennial all pro by the age of 25. Bad news, Chance is 22! I say that we give it to CJ with draw plays, go in shot gun 3 wide sets (Nate, Kendall, with Preston, D. Will, and Hunter. Let CJ get draw plays and let him catch in the flat. Hell, give him a wheel route. I just want to keep teams guessing at all times. CJ is always accounted for on the field by other team's defenses. Decoy his ass.
I just want to be 8-4 with 4 games left in the season. Because if we do, we are in the hunt for the division title. We are one game out now, without our starting QB.

Why wouldn't he? He's still the best weapon on this team. You don't limit his production. If anything, they need to find a way to utilize him more like the Chiefs are with Charles. Get him in space and let him dance around defenders! He still has break away speed. They just need to find better ways to get him the ball. I'd like to see him catch out of the backfield more.
