So, to answer the questions as to the cause of the poor Titans run game, I think we're seeing a lot of issues with the interior OL. Turner and Warmack are not playing well. Even Levitre is getting beat.

But CJ is a lot to blame because he's not going to get anything unless the OL gives him room and that isn't happening. When he does get space, he's not making anyone miss and he's going down on first contact. He's exactly the opposite kind of RB than an OL that can't hold blocks needs.

I think we'll see a lot of difference when Greene returns.

It will help when greene gets back maybe but we have plenty of lineman I do not see why we do not mix it up some. Also how about some sweeps and getting CJ some screen passes in space. I just keep seeing power football with a speed back. Square peg in round hole

Exactly. Until the OL gets it together (which may not even happen this season) it's pointless to even have CJ in there IMO. He can't run people over, which is fine as that's not his style. But he's not making anyone miss either. Might as well have someone in there who at least has the size/power to run somebody over and make a play.

What I don't get is why the Titans can't find ways to get him the ball out in the flat where he has more room to work.

I know the screen hasn't ever been anything the Titans have done well but I don't get not having designed short passes which forces an opposing LB to match up with him in space.

Yep. It'd be one thing if we were actually trying stuff like that and failing. But we aren't even attempting anything creative. I know we all have fun ripping on Loggains but I find it hard to believe that he's really THAT bad and uncreative. Which then leads me to... is it simply a matter of they don't believe enough in CJ to do anything other than your routine handoffs and runs up the gut? And if that's the case, that goes right back to WHY is he even in there then? Because the blocking certainly isn't up to snuff.

IDK, it's really baffling to me that we are stuck in this rut and don't even seem to be trying to do anything about it other than saying "We just gotta execute better". There are plenty of people here smarter than me so hopefully someone can eventually explain it to me.

And again, I would LOVE for someone in the media to ask Munch about these "different things" he said we were going to do with CJ this season. Because so far we have had the most vanilla, uncreative run game of any team I've seen this season. Which is just baffling as we have a very talented, maybe not great at this point, but talented offensive line and a back who is supposedly the biggest playmaker on our entire team. Really just blows my mind.

Also, I said this in another thread but I'll say it again here. CJ may not have the greatest hands in the world, but he's at least adequate as far as RBs go. He once had 50/500 for us. Just look what happened last Sunday when that play broke down and Fitz dumped it off to CJ in space. True he may not be the most elusive guy anymore, but he's still pretty darn fast.

On the lack of creativity in the running game:

In the last two games, I saw a few misdirections and draws in the mix. The defenses were disciplined and held their ground or pushed forward on the most part. The most unique run play was the fake to Mooney going up the middle with the pitch left to CJ who is running out wide. In theory, you'd think it would act like a quick pass to the flat as CJ immediately finds himself in space with only the CB to make miss.

However, the CB quickly came up and brought him down at the LOS. That kind of thing must drive Loggains crazy because he's set up for that play by running 10 between the tackles.

I've got a seven year old boy and eight year old girl who don't ever get along EVER.They wake up at 6am sharp in the morning and fight, kick, claw, scrap from sunup to sundown.Every five minutes one is telling on the other and vice versa. Then they are always hungry and my kids are not overweight they are both skinny but i don't see how as much as they eat. Then go to their rooms that look like a category five hurricane hit and then spend forever getting that mess sorted. Then when it gets bedtime you think there would finally be peace but nope your wrong.About an hour after they quit laughing and joking and it finally gets quiet my son always shows up in our room and says his sister is asleep. Then we spend another couple hours battling my son because he is never tired and doesn't seem to wind down.Oh man they are so much fun.:gaah:

That's Bacarri Rambo, not Kenny Vacarro.

Vacarro is looking pretty damn good with the Saints, but I did not want him whatsoever.
