The best case for Stevens is that when he has been out with an injury they replace him with Otto, an o-lineman. I'm not sure he has blocked well enough this season to justify his pay just as a blocker. He has to do something as a receiver to make that kind of coin.

Last year he had 23 catches. Well a TE who is a superior blocker with 23 catches is justified in making what he makes but this year no catches at all. By accident he should be averaging a catch per game.

Most likely he won't be here next year but why has Taylor not shown anything as a receiver yet? There should be some flash somewhere.

I like Stevens a lot. I think he can handle a larger role and for that reason, I liked the signing.

However, it is pretty apparent that the Titans aren't going to give him a larger role, so I wouldn't be heart broken if he was cut.

I have been very surprised at how few looks the #2 TE has gotten in our 2 TE packages. No doubt Walker is the better receiver/athlete and should get the majority of looks, but not utilizing the 2nd TE in the passing game at all is poor game management if you ask me. Maybe we have some looks and are holding them out until we really need them.

You don't design looks for you 5th best receiver on the field at any given moment.

I never said he should be canned, I just agree with TWW that we don't use our weapons near as well as we should. Loggains has so much to work with but he only calls safe and predictable plays. He hasn't been creative at all. And while you're totally right that we could have/should have won all of our games in spite of all the adversity, Loggains' playcalling is just way too predictable. Defenses see what we're doing from a mile away.

When Jake comes back Loggains has got to let him free and let him air it out.

This. Let him do his thing. If he can't do it, then we'll know. At least our D has been solid.

Time to update the stat numbers...

Jared Cook pass receiving $7M God:
    33 catches
    433 yards
    3 TD

    Delanie Walker
    39 catches
    403 yards
    5 TD

So the slow lumbering average stub is not a downgrade at all compared to the gazelle like Cook. Has more catches, more TDs and almost as much yardage.

Cook gets more attention from defenses than Walker does.

Doesn't matter. Cook also plays in a more wide open passing game
