Kenny Britt is 2-inches taller and was a good KR his rookie year, height doesn't hinder KR's

    I disagree...

While taller people have better speed in general, its also usually strait line speed (think the 100m dash, how many world class sprinters are under 6ft?); whereas shorter people are more agile and quick...

its not genetics, its physics bro...

also, these taller guys have a MUCH bigger chance to have their legs rolled up on or underneath... they are simply more prone to injury...

you know, sometimes i feel people here just want to argue for the sake of arguing... look throughout history of the league, why are KR/PR almost always shorter.... they are simply more suited for the role.... i never said tall people can't do it... i just said shorter people have proven better...

Look at who handles those return roles, its usually the 4th or 5th WR, or the 3rd RB, or a backup DB. Its just a coincidence they're all shorter.

Cordarrelle Patterson is KILLING it as a KR, he's 6'2"
Devin Hester is legendary at KR. He's a King of Hearts away from 6-feet.

When a special teams coach is looking for a returner, he's not shying away from the guys 6"+, he's just left with a bunch of back-ups to choose from.

No that's really not true...then where my friend are all the 6' 2-5 guys? and why are they not returning kicks?

are you really trying to tell me that all backup WRs (3-6) are ALWAYS shorter and that's why they aren't any?

or are you really saying that the ONLY reason that MOST of all KR/PR (seemingly throughout my life time) are under 6ft, is just b/c of luck?

c'mon guys... lanky players and taller dudes are more susceptible to injury, PERIOD.... PHYSICALLY they can't change direction as fast as shorter dudes... PERIOD...

    Yo TitanJeff
your avatar was once of Einstein... please say something...

when a tall guy cuts, there is so much body to hit.... 1-on-1 against a DB while on offense is something.... against a coverage team flying in, its a totally different story.... there are already so many injuries on ST, i bet if every team made their KR/PR a 6'3 or 6'5 guy, in about 4 weeks or less, half of them would be on IR or would sustain a somewhat serious injury....

They're all on offense starting and wining games at their primary position. If a ST coach could get his hands on a quick 6'2" guy he'd do it in a heartbeat.

I'm just glad we got rid of Reynaud and hoping Williams will be better at getting us out past the twenty. We were getting pinned deep quite a bit which was killing us since the offense was already struggling to move the chains.Would've been nice to have picked up Cribbs or another returner when Mariani went down.I think we all knew dating back to last year that Reynaud was getting pretty bad at returns. Can't help but wonder how different things might've been this whole season if Mariani would've been healthy.

Having a smarter KR and Brian Schwenke will go a long ways improving our offense. We may finally be able to string together some wins and get some respect from the rest of the league.

Literally all the KR has to do is not catch the dumb balls and sit it down in the endzone. Starting at the 20 is fine every time.
