lol not as dumb as saying he bats down passes when he has recorded an astounding, 2, this season.

Which leads me to another point......

how does a guy with two batted passes create pressure or get know for 'batting down passes'?

He doesn't, stop making crap up for the sake of making someone look better. He is an average defensive end. If he was constantly around the ball he would have more than 2 pass defenses, to suggest otherwise is reaching for something that isn't there.

I believe my sarcasm meter is broken, I don't 'hate' Morgan.

But when you people go on about 'pressure', it makes me want to pull my hair out. Pressure is good for guys like Dalton, Geno Smith, Palmer, E. Manning. As soon as Rodgers, Brady, Brees, or even Locker come out, pressure doesn't mean jack **** anymore. Stop taking home this second place trophy and realize that a pass defense, ends the play; and like Fry said above, a sack, is devesting.

Im not making anything up in order to make Morgan look better than he is. Im saying he swats down passes too. Someone I believe said they wanted a guy who does that...

Im sorry but you think Jackie Battle is all that in a bag of chips, its hard to know if you seriously hate Morgan (for IDK-Y) or dont know talent when you see it. Derrick Morgan is a perfectly fine piece that doesn't need messing with. The only criticism I have of that guy is his durability. He's dinged up right now, and he doesn't exactly have a healthy past. If we're going to change him out, the next guy better NEVER get hurt.

Derrick Morgan IMO will only get better. He had the ACL thing and has looked good since. Late last year and 6 of 7 games this year he's been where he needs to be. If he shakes off whatever's ailing him right now I'd gladly offer him an extension.

So wait a minute. Are you actually making the argument that a QB being under pressure and getting hurried doesn't matter? Even elite QB's get rattled by pressure. Just look at how much that offensive juggernaut led by Tom Brady in his prime struggled against the lowly Giants in 2007 solely due to their ability to pressure him. Look up the numbers of a QB's efficiency when under pressure and not under pressure and I wager you'll see a pretty big difference. Yes the elite will struggle a bit less but when playing an elite QB every little bit counts.Hurrying the QB is paramount in the NFL and Morgan gets a lot of hurries. He's no scrub.

The top QBs still know how to get the ball out and got route WRs when they sense pressure. The low end ones and young kids get spooked. He's correct.

Brady's downfall was having to change his throwing lanes against the giants. So many hands up he even said "it's like throwing in a forest"

Brady was also SACKED 5 TIMES.

Pressure is different when you are getting sacks. Who gives a damn about pressure when you are not getting sacks?
