I think the QBs are the most underrated aspect of this team. Our team passing rating is 16th in the nfl(Note to Riverman that means 16 teams are worse than us) which is not bad given the injuries and the fact we have no consistent running game.

Does that mean we do nothing regarding the position? No of course not but i would not throw the baby out with the bath water.

McCarron and Murray have not missed a start in their careers as starting QBs. If we could get one of them in rd 2 that would be great value. Derek Carr has not missed a game in 2 years either. So if the idea is to get a guy who can hold up there's 3 guys right there. If 2 of those 3 guys are there in rd 2 we can take out pick.

Looking at Sean Mannion's game yesterday against Arizona State i would hardly think he was worth a 1st rd pick. Anybody who wants him can be my guest.

People understand that 8-8 could be good enough for that last playoff spot right?

What makes this so hard is as follows.

Most people always root for their home team. So most of us, no matter how mad we get, will always be titans fans.

At least a 3rd of the team organizations in the nfl never appear to be interested in seriously competing to be the best. In otherwords, the owners seem to be happy just to have a team and be involved in the sport.

The titans appear to be one of those organizations who just like to exist. Not interested in doing what it takes to be the best.

As long as the titans are here, or until the nfl makes its self unenjoyable with its rule changes and propaganda pushing, you, me, and the rest here will all suffer together along side a team that is destined for eternal mediocrity.

I don't really care. We still suck, even if much of the watered down NFL sucks more.

Well its back up factually with math, but believe what you want. You realize the top 6% of the players means the first 15 players in the draft, right? So if you are saying that the top 6% is a must have, then we are can still draft in that range with out having to tank the rest of the season.

If drafting in the bottom 10 was so valuable and important/pivotal as you implied then by that notion the Rams, Browns, Lions, and Jags should all have been deep into the playoffs by now, but the reality is they haven't.

Or how about the Ricky Williams trade? Washington got all 6 of NO's draft picks. Sure they went 10-6 the next year, lost in the playoffs, then proceeded to go 8-8 two seasons in a row then 7-9 the following season. My point being; it isn't the number or even the draft number that matters but who is doing the scouting and drafting.

Just for some perspective, here is a list of all top 6 players in the last five years of our draft history. I think my point can be shown that even the top 5 players drafted are NEVER "Sure Things"

    Eric Fisher

    Dion Jordan
    Lane Johnson

    Gerald McCoy
    Trent Williams

    Russell Okung

    '09:
    Matthew Stafford
    Jason Smith
    Tyson Jackson
    Aaron Curry
    Mark Sanchez
    Andre Smith

Some added perspective, here is a list of the bottom 6 in each respective draft:

    '13
    DeAndre Hopkins
    Sylvester Williams
    Cordarrelle Patterson
    Alec Ogletree
    Travis Frederick
    Matt Elam

    '12
    Kevin Zeitler
    Nick Perry
    Harrison Smith
    A.J. Jenkins
    Doug Martin
    David Wilson

    '11
    Jimmy Smith
    Mark Ingram
    Gabe Carimi
    Muhammad Wilkerson
    Cameron Heyward
    Derek Sherrod

    '10
    Devin McCourty
    Jared Odrick
    Kyle Wilson
    Jahvid Best
    Jerry Hughes
    Patrick Robinson

    '09
    Donald Brown
    Eric Wood
    Hakeem Nicks
    Kenny Britt
    Beanie Wells
    Evander Ziggy Hood

I hope this can clear some things up for people wishing to just tank the rest of the season. It's also for those who actually think that tanking a season is a strategic move for rebuilding as opposed to taking the valuable (and limited) playing time and experience to prepare for the following year.
