I'm as upset with Munchak as anyone this season, but how much of it is really his fault? It seems like the majority of the team plays well, but a few screw ups by players keep costing us ballgames. Even in the games we have won, there have been a bunch of screwups, and we still managed to win. Let's take a look at his losses.

At Houston: We take a safety, allow two long game-tying drives at the end, and Locker overthrows a slant route on 3rd down which could have won us the game. The team played well enough as a whole to win.

Vs undefeated Kansas City: Reynaud causes a fumbled punt to go for a KC touchdown. Fitzpatrick makes some terrible throws in the 4th quarter to lose the game. The team again played well enough as a whole to knock off a 5-0 team. Note we did this even with a backup QB.

At Seattle: We were again in position to win at a very tough place against a very good opponent, yet more turnovers by Fitz, and a missed opportunity by Brown ended any chances. Note we did this even with a backup QB.

Vs. San Fran: This was the one game of the year where we were clearly outplayed. We still had a slight chance at the end if it wasn't for Reynaud.

Vs Jacksonville: We played pretty bad ball most of this game, but we still only ended up losing by 2 points. We suffered another safety on a hold in the endzone, and CJ fumbled the ball twice: Once at the 20, and once in the Red Zone. Had those screw ups not happened, we would have at least won the game.

Vs Indy: Both teams had their ups and downs which is to be expected. We lost by 3 after Wiggles turned over a kickoff that may as well have been a 7 point swing. We keep that possession, and the outcome may have been different. Note we did this even with a backup QB.

This is a team that could easily be 7-3 or 6-4 (or better) had we gotten a few breaks. In stead, everything that could go wrong has. After September, Munch was looking like a Coach of the Year candidate. But now we are all calling for his head.. but how much of it was his fault?

I've been wanting Munch gone as much as anyone, but I can't help but feel sorry for him this season. I can see why it's more difficult of a decision to fire him than it may seem at first. Thoughts?

The answer to your post is yes and you made a lot of great points. Get ready for the hate that is about to descend upon you.

I don't care about hate, I want to keep an open mind. If this is a 7-3 team is disguise, why not slip into the playoffs at 9-7 and do some damage? You guys forget we can take the 6th wildcard spot with a win next week and a Jets+Dolphins loss. Miami won't sustain their good play, and we own the tie breaker on the Jets.

I know a lot of you don't even want to make the playoffs anymore, but if you can see the silver lining in this team, why not?

    No. Just no.

Munch is something like 3-16 against teams with a winning record and we know how awful he is against the truly pathetic teams in the league.

As a fellow fan of East Tennessee amateur athletics surly you can recognize a turd of a coach when you see one.

He hasn't won many division games in his time here in TN. I don't really seems to see any discipline on his coached football teams with plenty of penalties. The timing of the penalties may be bad luck but the penalty is not. He wants to stop the run, hasn't done that! He said the titans would not disappoint and what does losing to the jaguars at home do?

I'll agree that his first two seasons have been pretty bad. But this season could have gone so well. Munch will probably still have to go, but I can't put him at the top of the blame list for this season alone.

Jesus Christ. No. The dude sucks. Why does our fanbase insist on making excuses for poor management/coaching/play?

we did start at 3-1 but we just went in to a downfall after that. I expected us to come out with a fire after the bye and I was confident. There was no excuse to lose to the jags, that was terrible. I have nothing against this guy personally, I just think he sucks as a head coach. He gambles on locker and it failed big time.
