Brown has been blown up in coverage several times this season.

Im sure its all on coaching, because it always is, but it wouldnt be the first player to show a glimpse of being great, then fall off the following season.

When multiple players at the same position fall off at the same time coaching might have something to do with it. Does the fact that Akeem Ayers is also having his worse year not cause even a bit of concern?

Your right though coaches have no effect on how players play at all. Don't know why they are even there really.

It is a coaches job to improve on their players weaknesses. Teaching footwork/angles are what go into helping you recover from being beat. Happens to one player, look at the player, if its happening to all of them.....well......

Ayers has never been amazing. he also is one of the worst tacklers on the team. He is also a bottom 10 LB in the league in coverage when it comes to giving up TD's and 1st downs.

So a horrible tackler, and horrible in coverage... what good is he then??? Pressure.....

    This was last season

So no... ayers is right on par for his play last season.

As for Brown. How is his tackling efficiency compared to last season?

You will find him, with Ayers, down towards the bottom.

Anyone remember why everyone was so happy and excited about them last season? When it wasnt their tackling, or coverage abilities?

Pressure. We were doing a lot of blitzing at linebacker. Ayers can get through the traffic and Brown was just freakishly fast getting to the QB. We just are not doing that as much this season.

    Thats all true actually.

I like Ayers, but he always has under performed I thought. He should be better.

Shoulda known better than to support a guy who highlights his hair.

It's really tough to get over 100 tackles if you suck at tackling.

Also as much as I love profootballfocus it's hardly gospel when it comes to football. Football is not like baseball were you can have a clear cut sabermetric like stat sheet that tells you all the answers. There are too many moving parts and too much of it relies on more then one player. They even admit that their tackling efficiency stat is almost entirely based on how many tackles a player misses which is a completely subjective number.

For example they called Derrick Morgan one of the best pass rushers in the NFL... Derrick Morgan.
