It's fine to allow the coordinators to make decisions on plays and personnel, but to not be aware of them is terrible management. It's comparable to a CEO who doesn't know the company finances because he allows the CFO to handle it, not acceptable!

This was an absolutely "Must Win" if Munchak had any hope of saving his job. Nevertheless he made the decision to bench perhaps our most dangerous offensive weapon in Hunter. When he did that any chance of winning flew out the window yet he didn't care. That's the problem with Munchak (and his mentor Fisher). Their pride and stubbornness preclude them from winning consistently. They could have dealt with Hunter and Williams (and Brown for that matter) in a manner that didn't hurt the teams chance to win.

I can actually respect that Munch benched Hunter with his job on the line. It was stupid, but I respect it.

The next Titans player to be benched will be.........Michael Griffin. He will hit Jones-Drew in the head and Munchak will bench him.

I disagree that its terrible management. I believe its exactly how management works, theres a structure to it.

Coming from someone who has worked in corporate structure most of the past 15 years, I will agree with you but also disagree.

The CEO is made aware of the company finances, by the reports the CFO creates. Those are usually end of day, end of week, or end of month reports (or end of quarter but that really doesnt matter) So while the CEO knows.. he gets his info from the CFO. I see it as the same thing.

We will see if Munch elaborates on Brown later this week.

But in football, "end of the day" = end of the series, "end of the month" = end of the quarter and "end of the year" = end of the game, so I don't see how there's any excuse for Munch not knowing at least by halftime that Brown was benched and wouldn't play the rest of the game barring injuries. Someone also mentioned Munchak didn't know that Stevens and Thompsons had terrible numbers. Now I don't expect him to know the exact numbers for all players, but he at least should know if they have no, moderate or great numbers.

I have to agree with previous posters in that the players should be dealt with outside of the Gridiron.

A couple months wages being docked can still be as a big a message to the individual as a benching. It also doesn't result in the TEAM suffering.
