Nothing. I just don't see it as a particular similarity to Munchak, many coaches didn't make the playoffs the first 3 years and many of them probably got fired too.

How does the Chuck Knoll comparison work? Knoll took over a team that was 1-13 and the Steelers were the worst organization in the league.

To each their own, but with the potential this offense has I would really like a Offensive minded coach.

Not sure what history says though. Maybe the teams that turn around are those that have a great X and get a Y minded coach. Or vice versa. Team has a great X and they get an X minded coach.

Wow. Is this really that complicated to posters here? Holy ****.

There is one similarity. Neither made the playoffs in the first 3 years. That's it. Are we all clear now??? Can we move on??? Or am I now labeled Munch for life guy cause I'm pointing out a coaching statistic?

What is surprising (or was to me) is that several great coaches did not make the playoffs the first 3 years. I'm sure plenty more have not made the playoffs the first three years and never had success. But it is not unheard of for a coach to miss the playoffs his first three years and then have Superbowl success. Search Ravensshallburn posts cause he is the one that proved me wrong as I assumed there were very few coaches that had success after missing the playoffs the first 3 years.

I've always said playoffs in 3 years or bust. BUST. FIRE MUNCH. (i felt like i had to add this line or it would be too confusing for shortbus).

Shut up idiot. Munch will be fired for his overall record not for just missing the playoffs. 2 losing seasons in a row, a sub 500 overall record and the horrible division record.

Playoffs are a pipe dream most of us would just like to see an 8-8 team.

Exactly the sole reason Munch is going is because he's got a losing record in arguably (actually i'm not arguing it IS) the worst division in the league.

Some could say NFC East, but the Cowboys and Eagles would both wax us as things stand under Munch.

Our divisional record is dire... how have we not beaten the Jags, their roster blows, or the Texans they just blow or the Colts who blow even HARDER.

    0-4... nice work there Munch!

Head coaches I would fully support us hiring:

    Darrell Bevell
    Bill O'Brien
    Ray Horton
    Lovie Smith

I think I'd prefer Bevell because he's obviously had a lot to do with Russell Wilson's success and development, and we could draft a QB (Murray) to develop under Bevell.

We have never developed QBs well.... NEVER. Not during the Oiler era, not during the Titan era. It's never happened.

    Warren Moon? Canada.
Steve McNair? No... we didn't develop him. He had a couple good seasons well into his career.
    Vince Young? lol
    Jake Locker? lol
