This Sunday will be the Titans final game for the 2013 season, but will it also be Alterraun Verner's final game as a Titan?

Below are some recent CB contracts (cap hit for that year) that other teams have given out following top CB's contract years. In parenthesis are the stats that got these guys paid the prior season.

    2013 - Darrelle Revis - $16M (63 tackles, 24 deflections, 5 INT's in 18 games)
    2012- Cortland Finnegan - $6M (75 tackles, 11 deflections, 1 INT)
    2012 - Brandon Carr - $3.2M (45 tackles, 15 deflections, 4 INT's)
    2011 - Champ Bailey - $11M (45 tackles, 13 deflections, 2 INT's)
    2011 - Leon Hall - $8M (44 tackles, 11 deflections, 4 INT's)

    And Verner's 2013 stats thru 15 games is; 56 tackles, 22 deflections, 5 INT's WOW

What do you do believe Verner is worth?

I would not at all be surprised to see him walk after this season. He will have a huge contract demand, and they will have Wreh-Wilson waiting to compete. I could also see them drafting a CB.

I also imagine that he wants to feel like a winner as well as getting paid. Sunday will be his last game as a Titan

I agree, but I'll be honest, I am not sure he will be worth the crazy amount he will get. Don't get me wrong, he had a great season, but cb's of decent quality can be found in draft and FA, and we do have Wreh-Wilson. Not to mention, we need the money for bigger needs.

He had a truly great season, but he doesn't have the physical tools of a player who can continue to be a shut-down corner. He has hit his ceiling and he's unlikely to do it again. He is exactly the kind of player you don't want to overpay.

I will hate to see him go, though. Love Verner.

He'll never have a season like this again. He's turned into a solid player, but is still overrated as hell.

I've been saying since we gave that God awful contract to JMac that the wrong CB got paid. It's not a secret that Verner is the best corner we've had since he came on the scene. I won't be mad at Vern for skipping town to the highest bidder, he deserves to get paid.
