Again, I think people are misinterpreting. I don't think the complaint is that we were passing the ball, but that couldn't run it like we said we would and built the team for.

yea I suck at remembering some thing, however throughout the season, many people were complaining and saying we would run run pass. Dont remember who, but it was enough to make me go dig up stats and show that we were passing more than running.

It was definitely more about the creativity of the play calling.

I know we had that discussion and I believe I dug up stats to show that your numbers were skewed because we started passing more when we were behind, which we were a lot ;)

    Rushing Attempts this season:

    SEA (2), SF (3), PHI (4), SD (6), CAR (7), CIN (8), NE (9)

7 out of the top 10 teams in the playoffs. The other 3?

Buffalo: Spiller/Jackson, rookie QB, injuries at the QB position
NYJ: Always have run the ball more than most, rookie QB.
TEN: Always near the top 10.

The lowest were the Saints at 26th but all they do is throw the ball.

Philly is also #9 is passing, so they have a good passing attack which makes them good in both dimensions.

Which was also just as annoying.

Loggains was calling sweeps and tosses, and CJ was turning them inside.

Either way, at least the off season will be exciting. Hopefully we get one of those coaches that can sprinkle the magic pixie dust and make our players better players. (sarcasm, but also serious)

7 of the top 10 passing teams are also in the playoffs.

Balance. No we will see what happen now that they are in the playoffs and who goes the furthest.

Getting there IS the first step though.

The problem with being a run-heavy team is the QB and wide receivers don't get the passing reps in game time experience. This leads to a lot of drops and bad passes. Not many QB's or receivers can be clutch when the offense is built on the run.

You'll notice how much better our receivers were when we started throwing more. The 1st half of the season was filled with dropped balls. The 2nd half of the season was completely different because the receivers got game time experience.
