I definitely sense it when I see him in the pocket as plays break down that he actually panics or hyper ventilates to the point where he over throws the ball in triple coverage like the jags int or runs and takes a stupid shot and gets hurt. If he does not control his anxiety he will never play a full season in the nfl ever.

It dated back to his college days as well. Always tended to start games really sloppy and high strung.

the other day I re watched the pick on you tube to see what kiper said about him at the time and makes complete sense that we risked way too high of a pick on this guy from seeing what he did in college. Now I don't follow college much but completing 47-50% from pocket is terrible!

I'll be frank and honest. I liked the pick. Thought he was a stud coming from college. I don't and rarely do I bother looking at stats when I evaluate talent. However this was one of the first real evals I really took time to do. My criteria has obviously grown and Changed

I think talent wise I was correct but I missed on a couple aspects that broke the camels back. Injury concerns, and I thought the anxiety issues were over blown.

the only stat I really look at is accuracy from the pocket, since McNair has been gone I always wanted a pocket passer. We all know how VY turned out and in 2010 before he got hurt he did play well, thought we may keep him in '11 and I was rooting for the guy to come through for us but not meant to be and he did it to himself because he was a fool so no hard feelings there. Stats can be overrated at times but I think at this time the one stat that glares out to me is that he started 16 games in 3 years, very hard to overlook that! I don't hate any guy on this team, I want to win but if you only play 1/3 of your games you are gone quick!

Well don't mistake me from a college standpoint.

His pro stats are worth considering going forward but college stats don't hold a whole lot of weight goin into the pros. Good to look at but you have to also break down when and where they were created as well as how to get a good idea of that.

fair point, I guess I am just frustrated to see all these young QB's have success and lead their team while ours is always on the bench. I also have to say this and I prob have said this before in other threads but he does not protect himself on the field which leads to him getting hurt, that irritates me as well. At the end of his contract I don't see how we can validate extending his contract and we will let him go but either way I will deal, Munch is gone and I can live with that for awhile!

By comparison I hated kaepernicks release that year. I nick named him KaeperDick because I couldn't imagine him being able to thrive in the pros with that crazy elongated release. Harbaugh spent a year and fixed it and now look.....

I did however love R.wilson coming out. In college he reminded me so much of watching a pro game. I try to not read where/what other main draftniks are thinking Til after I've made my eval.

This creates a scenario where only I'm responsible for creating the evaluation on the prospect. Try to get no outside influence.

that is awesome, I may do the same this year going in to the draft and yes R wilson was awesome in college, played very well. The Hawks got him late too in the 3rd round! Qb's are a crap shoot tho, gotta find one that fits our system which is?? well we need to fix our identity crisis before we mold our Qb and a new HC which I am very excited for!

And once again your lack of knowledge is as obvious as the sun rising in the morning.
