We're in good hands with Ruston and Tommie. I say we trade the pick for someone's first rounder next year and pick up a third in the exchange. Then we focus on a lb in the second and either ot or rb in the third.. and next year we can focus on qb if we decide not to pick up locker's extension or get someone in free agency. that way we will have 2 first round picks and know which way we want to head. Right now it's way to cloudy to make a decision and way too many needs/iffy situations.

At first glance this seems crazy but I'm really intruiged by this idea. We're not in a position to draft a QB of the future which is what we really want so picking up a third and essentially punting that 1st round pick to next season is definitely interesting.

I remember we traded down with the giants from 14 to 15 because they wanted Jeremy Shockey THAT badly. We still got Haynesworth.

I think we traded down the years we got Eddie George and Kenny Holmes too.

I like the idea of a trade down to get an extra pick, but lets face it, it most likely will not happen. We will all be talking on this forum about who the Titans love and how they hope he falls to them come May. I remember us all talking about Warmack and Dee Milliner for quite some time.

Even if someone wanted to move up, we could just swap picks, keep our 1st and still get a 3rd out of it, if we moved down far enough (it probably wouldn't take much, we traded our 3rd to move up 7 spots last year to take Hunter). When Atlanta moved up to take Julio Jones a few years ago I think they were at 21 and the Browns were at 6. The Falcons traded 5 picks to move up that high. 2 firsts, a second and 2 fourths. When a team thinks they're close and one player away, they are willing to give a lot to get the player they want.

If one of the top 3 QBs falls or one of the top OTs, I could easily see us trading down a few spots, swapping 1sts and picking up another pick, hopefully as high as a 3rd, maybe a 2nd if the team is desperate. We have a lot of holes to fill so I guarantee Ruston has thought about this. And don't forget, there's no way we're getting any compensatory picks this year because of how many FA's we signed last year. So trading down is the only way to get more picks, unless they wanted to package players & picks.
