The fact you let Verner go and kept CJ makes me hate you forever.

With your trade, my draft would go:

    1.20: Kony Ealy, OLB, Mizzou
    2.11: Ka'Deem Carey, RB, Arizona
    2.20: Chris Borland, ILB, Wisconsin
    4.10: AJ McCarron, QB, Alabama
    4.20: James Hurst, OT, UNC
    5.11: Cameron Fleming, OT, Stanford
    6.10: Zack Kerr, NT, Delaware
    7.13: Jonathan Brown, OLB, Illinois

I would also cut CJ2K & use his $$ on Mr. Verner.

I do like your draft, don't know a lot about Stanley Jean-Baptiste however. All your other picks I could dig.

We'll draft a DB somewhere. We always do. Can't have enough of them.

It wouldn't surprise me if we didn't. If we resign Verner, we have Verner & McCourty locked up long term. We then have Coty Sensabaugh, who I feel is very underrated. He's a solid NB and should see more PT next year. Then you have the rookies Wreh-Wilson & Khalid Wooten. Plus, Tommie is still hanging around.

I think bringing Verner back is an long shot. I just don't ever get the feeling that the organization wants him. We've done everything we can to give Campbell the starting the job the last two seasons. If we had someone who could have given a little bit of legitimate competition to Verner he probably would have been demoted.

With that said, I think DB is a lock to be selected since Pollard is also a free agent and if he leaves we don't have any depth at S.

And this is why I don't do mocks until after the combine/free agency.

You know I've been thinking about that and while I do agree with you I don't think it makes a lot of sense to cut CJ and resign Vern...

First off look at who our last two OC's have been... Chris friggin' Palmer and Bilbo Lowgains! Logic dictates that we should keep CJ to see what a real offensive mind can do with him, not to mention cutting him puts way too much dead money on our books.

Vern just can't handle big receivers, they guy is too small and slow to be resigned for big bucks. They way forward is what the Seadderall Hawks have done, go big corners who can play man and have a rangy safety backing up deep.
