I just want everyone to know, that as soon as you pull up PFF, I almost automatically dismiss your argument.

80% of the time, they are garbage.

This is Neil Hornsby, founder of PFF. LOL

This is the guy that everyone apparently trusts to evaluate NFL players with absolutely no experience within the NFL. I would feel a whole lot more comfortable with a lot of you guys watching film and evaluating players than this doofus... and that's why I've been watching each Ravens game and evaluating Oher on my own without using some absolutely stupid grading scale that should never be taken seriously.

TWW2 might as well be in charge of PFF.

It's probably no different than what EA does for Madden player ratings. You simply cannot take that sh*t seriously.

Sometimes it may look as if the tackle gave up a sack but who's to say whether he was expecting help from a TE or running back

Besides they didn't sign Oher for what he did last year they signed him for what they think he can do in the future

Yep... Exactly what I was saying in one of my above posts.

Five games in, only twice have I seen Oher get beat and give up a sack (one to Watt and one to Dareus). I am sure PFF had put Oher at fault at times when it is another players fault. And the majority of the issues I've seen are coming from the interior or left side.

PFF is simply not qualified to be giving complex grades for players.

I'll need to dig further, but from what I've found so far - no, this dude has no experience.

And I doubt his co-workers do either.

I'll get to the bottom of it, but either way I still won't take them seriously.

    honestly

You would think retired NFL scouts or something would have done this a long time ago. Or created their own system. PFF's stats have been a load of crap for years now.

Yep... He's never played a down of football and he had never even been to a pro game until he was 42.

It seems some NFL teams use his data, but it looks as if they're more concerned with actual relevant statistical data and percentages rather than flawed grades.

In conclusion, my initial assumption was correct. PFF is not qualified to be grading players, so I will now take them even less seriously than Bleacher Report.

You have all been warned and PFF cannot be used as a source anymore.

Just like your college professors wouldn't let you site Wikipedia in your bibliography... Don't use PFF.

Nice post for fans who rejects PFF, but I still agree with 70% or more of their grades. These guys know football despite not playing a ton.

Ill ask any PFF critic, have you accessed any of their data before? I lucked out getting on their site for free, so I can honestly say I'm pleasantly surprised with what they offer. You dont have to have played before to rank players.

Now if you asked their opinions of who's the best teamates, then Id question their opinions, because obviously they have never been teamates with anyone. But since theyre soley grading "on the field performance", theyre thoughts are valid.

Anyone whos seen 600-700+ plays of ALL the league (like PFF does) has right to pass judgment.
