I swear I mentioned that play... I was taking notes for the first four or so games, but I got tired of doing that. So maybe that's where I mentioned it... I said he struggled at times with Watt and Mercilus.

I did not consider that to be a sack... Flacco wasn't touched and the ball was just swatted out of his hands and recovered by the Ravens.

These plays happen to every team and even the best OTs give up plays to pass rushers. Through eight games, he has impressed me in pass protection minus a few errors here and there and I'm not concerned by what I've seen from his run blocking skills. He's average, but if the rest of the line was doing their thing he would look a hell of a lot better.

I am positive that Flacco's holding onto the ball too long has negatively effected Oher's grade on PFF... not on that particular play, but in general Flacco often takes forever to get rid of the ball.

Even Michael Oher's foster mother knows Flacco holds the ball too long:

I'm seeing the EXACT same things as you. A lot of these "sacks" against him seem to be a product of the guys around him messing up and Oher trying to clean it up or Flacco holding onto the ball for freaking ever.

Just watched Oher's first ugly game. It's against Cincy in week 10. They still won the game in OT and he wasn't Big Country bad but he gave up way too many hurries and sacks. One of the pressures led to a bad decision/throw by Flacco which led directly to a pick. For those that feel pressures don't matter.

I don't remember you mentioning this play and you certainly never mentioned Mercilus. It happened at 12:11 in the 2nd quarter. Mercilus hit Flacco. He ran right around Oher. Oher only got to touch his back shoulder as he was hitting Flacco. It's actually really hard to tell what Oher was thinking on this play. He didn't even engage Mercilus until he was behind him. The line doesn't move to screen. Looks like a mental error.

When a QB is forced to fumble and it's recovered behind the line, it is always a sack.

I consider it a sack. Most people would.

I've seen the play. You don't need to describe it to me.

I made note of it... and it doesn't change my opinion on Oher.

Let me know your thoughts on his week 10 game vs Cincy when you get there.

I told yall. All these folks hating on oher because a ******* website says he's bad. What did I say? Flacco holding the ball too long. Didn't even have to go back and watch anything to know that.

Will do. I started that game last night and only saw the first series.

I'll take your word for it that he was bad (since we've agreed on the rest of his performances), but I'll obviously continue watching.

The one thing I would take away is that Oher likely stopped caring midseason. It really didn't matter what he did... The OL sucked too bad for it to matter. Like I've said, if the rest of the OL is gelling and playing well Oher will be absolutely fine.

I'm more worried about all of our interior guys (Levitre, Schwenke, and Warmack) than I am about Oher.
