In case you missed it Dallas Mavericks owner (NBA) came out with some opinions on the future of the NFL.

    Patriots owner Robert Kraft responded with;

What do you make of Cuban's opinions?

Jealousy? Envy? Wishful thinking? ... proabably wishes he would've bought an NFL team instead of a dumb NBA team.

Both absolutely have gotten worse in the past 15 years.

He is crazy. It might peak but even then I don't see it as its popularity is growing overseas as well as in Mexico and Canada.

This coming from a man who road the dark ages of the NBA from the late 90's to the late 00's.

If the NFL can survive a strike and keep growing I don't see it slowing down anytime soon.

Cuba is butthurt because he wants a franchise.

I think that if the NFL is on the verge of implosion I wonder what that says about the state of the NBA. Only thing that could cripple the NFL is massive fan disengagement and I just don't see that coming.

    I will say this.

The NFL needs to avoid expansion.

    The talent just isn't there.

Look at how thin the QB talent is spread already.

DO NOT put a team in London

Move the Bills to Toronto and the Jaguars to LA and be done with it.

You could maybe have two more teams but even then... I dunno.

I like that the NFL always points to ratings going up. Yeah, with less people going to games you better hope ratings go up.

NBA is still growing, I think in a way he could be right. More and more grownups are not allowing their children to play football because of injuries and proven aggression. However, when you look at basketball, young people are attracted to watch the LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Paul George for years to come. The NBA is getting great hype and the amazing part is that the major city teams aren't even doing great this season, I mean look at the Lakers, the Celtics, the Knicks. None of those franchises are even close to making playoffs and yet the NBA is still getting great ratings. In years to come I think that the NBA will rise, while the NFL will stay at the current ratings that it gets.

However, the one thing that will constantly continue to make the NFL better than the NBA is because of the single game elimination in playoffs. Who would bother to watch any first round NBA playoff series unless it has meaning the way elimination games do. The NBA regular season can be boring as well, only the marquee matchups get the good ratings. If the NBA made the season shorter such as 30 games, I think more people would go crazy for it the way people do with NFL.

They make a majority of their money on TV deals and endorsements right?

Most of the league's stadiums are full on Sunday outside of a few exceptions. Even when the seats are empty, the tickets have already been sold as is the case in Nashville most of the time.

It's all better than the MLB either way, that sport is headed down the drain (ratings and attendance wise) unless something drastic is done!
