I want to thank CJ for providing the excitement he did here in Tennessee. Nobody can argue that it wasn't awesome watching him his first few years regardless of how you personally feel about his production drop afterwards and the reason/reasons for it. We got to watch our RB have arguably the greatest season a RB has ever had in the NFL. I wish him nothing but the best going forward. Except when he's playing against the Titans of course.

He sure was fun to watch those first 3 years. It's just too bad it never really translated to wins aside from his rookie season (not saying it's his fault, just saying). He was certainly worthy of his pick and would've easily been worth a top 10 (5?) selection even. He just never was the same after that second contract. Whether that was because it took the motivation/drive out of him or whether it was all outside factors, it was unfortunate and typical Titan luck.

I appreciate what he did early on. Believe it or not, I was a big time CJ fan at one time. So I wish I could say I wish him the best with his new team. But I can't. His words and actions over the past few years have been nothing short of selfish and entitled. Any shred of respect or fondness I had for the guy is long gone.

The Giants, Cowboys, and Jets are expected to express interest in Chris Johnson once he's released.
Johnson is meeting with Titans GM Ruston Webster on Friday and is expected to be granted his release sometime today. The Jets have been linked to Johnson for a couple weeks now and we've heard the Cowboys mentioned as a possibility before, but this is the first time the Giants have been in the discussion. Gang Green easily has the most salary cap space of the three clubs.

So if he ends up signing with the jets/cowboys/giants he isn't signing to "win the big one". He is signing because 1.those are the teams who have money and a rb need and 2. He wants the most money.

To be fair, I think you could make a case that if he signs with the Giants he's focused on winning. They are an up and down club and people love to hate on Eli. But he's won two Super Bowls. Same for Couglin.

If he signs with Dallas or NYJ I think it's clear he went to the highest bidder. Those two teams seem to be perpetually stuck in that underachieving category, just like the Titans. On that note, it'll be interesting to hear TWW2's explanation(/backtracking) to his "CJ wants to go somewhere with a legit QB" argument if he ends up signing with the Jets. Who have arguably the least legit QB in the whole league.

    Today?

He's hung around this whole time. As much as I expected him to be cut- it looks like the staff is going to give him a chance.

Typical Titans waiting until after free agency to make cap space. At least we'll be able to put that 17 million bucks in cap space to good use... oh wait...

there was news yesterday where his agent said he will be cut.

every sign has been pointing that he will be gone. Nobody wants a trade, so he'll be released.
