EDGE rusher, although the elite are gone.

Im still hoping Horton will find the inner edge rushers on the current roster

    sure why not right?

Tbh, I think that's been the idea all along. Get by with the Lb talent we have until further notice

These are the players remaining from the top 50 on my big board. Note: This is a general, league-wide board, not a Titans board, 3-4 board, etc.

    DL Ra’Shede Hageman
    NT Louis Nix
    QB Derek Carr
    WR Marqise Lee
    WR Brandin Cooks
    DL Kony Ealy
    DL Timmy Jernigan
    G Xavier Su’a-Filo
    TE Jace Amaro
    T Cyrus Kouandjio
    OLB Kyle Van Noy
    DE/OLB Jeremiah Attaochu
    WR Allen Robinson
    WR Jordan Matthews
    DL Stephon Tuitt
    RB Carlos Hyde
    WR Davante Adams
    G Gabe Jackson
    TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins
    G David Yankey
    T Morgan Moses
    DE/OLB Scott Crichton

Would love to get Nix, but I doubt he's still available at #42. I'm afraid the Texans might take him, but I'm hoping they screw up and take Carr instead.

So many options. JordAn Matthews or Hill if we go O. Nix or Jernigan if we go D.

No thanks to Matthews, I'm not a fan. I like Hill but think we can get someone almost as good in Round 4 or 5.
These are completely different players and fit different philosophies. Nix is a 0-technique, a two-gapper. Jernigan is a 1-tech in a 3-4 or would be a 3-tech for a 4-3 defense. Either way, he's a one-gap player and can't fit in a two-gap D. Horton's background is with a traditional two-gap D and I hope we eventually go that route (maybe we can fully transition to it next year). Nix is the prototypical two-gap NT and I'd love to get him now. Getting Jernigan would mean we plan on being a one-gap D in the years to come.

With us taking a guy with assault charges pending in the 1st rnd, can the FO take another guy with possible issues. Plenty of the top guys have issues...Jernigan, Mettenberger, Lawrence, Hill or do we have to go for a no issues guy.

I'm ok with waiting on a RB till round 4. Hill is my top choice but I can live with the options later on.

It seems to me the Titans are very interested in Matthews. I'm rooting for D here though

And I think we take the highest rated dlineman on our board. Doesn't matter his style. But, i like reading insight that's well thought out like that. Good post!

    Best defensive lineman available please.

Nix makes a ton of sense looking at the depth chart, but for me if Hageman is there we have to take him, he is a monster and a first round player.

    Best RB in the 4th
