They don't compete in the same region or area.

    So, no.

We have Time Warner up here but no Comcast.

    Technically, no monopoly.

The good thing about this merger would be you could then get TV, internet, and phone services bundled and save a little up front right? That was the biggest drawback for me when I first moved out of my parents and had TV. I opted to have DTV and thats all I got was TV. I had to steal internet from my neighbor for a year. And I just did without a house phone, but I soon learned you get lower insurance for having a land line, so it became essential later.

Current DTV customers have to use another party for internet and phone, which is costlier than it should be. This could be a big win for DTV fans.

I'm going to move this back to the Lounge. Let's keep politics out of it, por favor.

I really do not see how politics can stay out of it.

This is a big power move with Net Neutrality. Limiting politics out of it, is practically putting a cap on the thread.

The politics of it and AT&T's motives are political.

Not to mention this move will need approval from DC.

AT&T tried to buy T-Mobile. They said no.

Lets clarify then. If you want to discuss the FCC's role in deciding net neutrality and any congressional discussions or decisions around the matter then go ahead.

If anyone plans to voice their personal opinions of government officials and rant on about things that are inappropriate for the open forum or off topic in general...don't.
