I'm posting this because I believe there will be a lot of interest for this topic from this forum. I don't understand how any of this was passed and is now being put into our states educational systems. This will only make people stupid and your multiplication tables which make life much simpler for us will simply disappear. Sounds great, right?

This is what they want to teach your kids. If you have children you should be furious that the government wants to keep your kid at an elementary math level. From what I have heard the states who adopt Common Core Math will be given tax breaks. If that's what it takes for states to adopt it then it has to be terrible. Here's a few videos to help you understand this rediculous concept.

"Dumb em up" when they're young is a pretty common mantra these days.

    WOW!

has zero to do with common core and I am thinking that probably came from a private/home school which is absolutely none of yours or my business.

Only ELPL Progtards believe that children must be indoctrinated into the Libtarded public school system.

If a church wants to teach their followers biblical facts as they see it its none of your business

I can't find a link at the moment but I remember reading there was a school/teacher that gave a test and they said even if the student gets the wrong answer.. on a MATH question, if they can defend their reasoning, they get credit.

So an example was 10-6 = 7 could still be considered right, if the idiot explained why they thought it was right.

Education system in this country has been on decline for quite some time. It really has little to do with political party... Both are guilty of ****** ideas. "No Child left behind" ring a bell?

    All terrible...

well in higher math partial credit is common.

say in Calcalus II for example if you got the Calcalus part correct but made a math error then getting say 8 of a possible 10 points on that question would probably be about right.

But if you got the guts of what is being taught wrong then its a big 0 on that question

NCLB was a noble ivory tower concept that produced horrendous unintended consequences.

But making sure the most fragile students got some attention was not a horrid idea.

The local schools going out of their way to remove those categories of students from their tests was/is pretty real bad. Seems like that was the scandals anyways
