Know what's sad? The other day I started thinking... there's no popular rock group today. That I can think of at least.

    Nickelback killed it.

Hmm... odd. Rap still everywhere on pop radio. As bad as it is.

Rock became either selfish or dull. Personally I think Muse is doing the best job of advancing the past, present and future of all rock right now. Too progressive for some, too Andrew Lloyd Webber for others, too Queen for others still, but I love it.

Meanwhile we had a period last year where nearly every rock chart topper was Americana and NuGrass. Wtf is that about??

Muse is kinda just the exception to the corporate rule that modern Rock shall not be played on the radio (or whatever the current medium is). They are on the cusp of pop autotunery themselves and kinda reside popularity-wise outside traditional rock/alt fanbases. The record store day people loathe Muse.
The Rush guy would like Muse.. lol

    ROBIN TROWER B*TCH!

"Cusp of pop auotunery"?? What??! Are you saying this just because they invoked some dubstep on the last album? That's just silly.
And Trower is just fap fodder for people too stoned to get out of the chair and change the station. That is seriously the absolute WORST excuse for blues rock ever made... try to pick a tempo, turn that godawful muddy phaser off and use the friggin treble knob....

If you wann talk corporate rock suckery, Trower is just Bad Co. with a broken eq.

    That's adorable.
If a band that does not follow convention, annoys it's underwriters, plays what it wants how it wants, doesn't appeal to music-buying youth, has zero eye candy and has seasoned musicians is "false rock" then so is Turbonegro and The Creeping Cruds.

I know none of this is to be taken seriously, but "false rock" deserves better definition.

Av, that's the actual pic in the dictionary under False Rock.

I've explained this before and you almost had an aneurysm over the discussion. I want you to stick around some more so it might be best to not go there again.

The funniest part is that anyone thinking music is anything but subjective.
You like Rush. That's great. To me they represent False Rock, but I wouldn't deny you listening to them if that gives you pleasure.
I suspect you would have a real hard time with The New York Dolls or Johnny Thunders but to me it gets no better than that. You probably hate The Ramones too. Again, I get that happy endorphin thing anytime I hear those bands.. Should I deny myself or falsely represent what I like in any other way?

Have a Muse/Rush special picnic day if you like.
    The world is yours..
