Fair enough. We disagree on a lot of things but I know you're not a mean-spirited or hateful guy. Gotta save that for my new BFF Alex. I've been liking a lot of what I'm hearing from Alex1939 lately.

Because your sexuality is YOUR sexuality. Why the f*ck do I care what YOUR sexuality is? Unless I want to f*ck you- which I don't. I don't want to know your fetishes- I could not care less. And it's just creepy and gross to have those issues in the open. Libidos are crazy driving forces that can destroy otherwise productive social interactions. Not everything is sexually based. And folks have enough problem keeping focused on being productive.

Seriously, you tell me why you think a person keeping his/her sexual preferences private is "unhealthy". Just what is the purpose of a person openly espousing what they prefer sexually? What is the point?

Furthermore, we can't discuss it in the workplace because society has deemed that environment inappropriate and unproductive and it can legally be considered "harrassment". Sexuality has limits on how it can be presented in the media (to a certain degree) hence we have censorship laws. And mostly because people are so GD insecure about their sexuality (hetero preferences included) that is makes nearly everybody uncomfortable to hear about another person's preferences without thinking about their own.

There are other cultures where sexuality isn't a predominatly private subject. Is it "healthier"? I wouldn't have a problem living there.

If memory serves Te'o just had a bad 40 (4.82?) but the rest of his combine was at least solid and he interviewed well.Te'o was also a better player in college and the whole "fake girlfriend" thing was just something people found funny. People are very passionate about gay rights on both sides. This situation may superficially be similar to others in the past but it's actually pretty unique.

The thing about Sam is that he probably peaked as a mid-round talent. Then he looked really bad in the SEC championship game and people questioned if he could play in the NFL. Then he looked lost in the Senior Bowl practice and some GM's called him undraftable and some draft analysts said he looked like he had never played football before.

Then he came out and all of a sudden people that don't follow football are screaming discrimination is why he was taken so low.

Fringe NFL players that cause a distraction, even if it isn't their fault, don't stay in the league.

You're right. Much more likely there are 200+ NFL execs colluding in a giant homophobic shunning party.

Until then, continue to rain down the logical fallacies like mentioning one minor point in my argument that you disagreed with as a means to disprove the rest.

It's crazy to me how delusional you are in so many spectrums. It is one small step from me disregarding it all entirely as trolling. I guess you and TWW2 have that much in common.

Delusional? In any other forum I'd find that offensive. Here? I think being "delusional" across the board means I'm simply a normal person that can actually rationalize my thoughts.

And sorry... this one isn't tough.

Look at SEC's hype. It's higher than ever. SEC fans are all about how superior their athletes are... until one is gay. Then OHHHH he's a tweener! Bad combine! Bad blah blah blah...

All the previous- drafted round 1. This one... SIX rounds later?

    Sorry bud. Unjustifiable.

    But I'M delusional?

You just compared a system QB to a DPOTY Linebacker...

And once again- I'm not saying him coming out as gay is the sole reason- but it certainly had a lot to do with it.

Oh wait- but it's unfathomable that old ass white dudes would be homophobic. Right?

    ... Yeaaahhhh you're not bright.

These are the last 6 SEC def players of the year:
    Eric Berry
    Rolando McClain
    Patrick Peterson
    Morris Claiborne
    Jarvis Jones
    Michael Sam

Completely ignoring the fact that Sam is a gay male. There is a very clear ability gap between Sam and those other guys. Also to my knowledge none of those other guys were tweeners and it was fairly easy to project what position they would play in the NFL. I understand the point your trying to make. You feel it's way too coincidental that Sam is the only SEC def player of the year to go so low and at first blush it does come off that way but when you look into it you realize that Samn just wasn't a comparable prospect to these guys. I think that his sexuality did hurt him some but not enough to go from 1st to 7th. I think it cost him at least 2 rounds and the combine cost him 3-4. His combine wasn't just bad, it was dreadful. He got out run and out jumped by some O lineman. It was bad.

Jesus- next the old ass whites dudes are going to actually have repressed gay desires as the root cause of their "anti-gay-ness".

Come on DW- some folks just don't care to know a person's sexual preference- they will accept him/her as an equal without that having to be shared. But they damn sure don't want to be told they are bigots or worse because they don't support or share the same view when they are forced to know what that person's sexual preference is. That situation is the ultimate example of hypocrisy.

Again you're ignoring the fact that most GMs aren't going to pass up on a 1st round talent in the 6th just because of sexual preference. Regardless of personal beliefs/values, if you think a guy can make an impact on your team you take him (for the most part). These guys jobs/livelihoods are literally on the line as they are making these picks.

Yes, homophobia exists. Yes, discrimination exists. But you're reaching big time if you think Michael Sam is a 1st round pick if he's straight.
