RB is one of the few positions where it would actually be a possibility. QB/OL/WR/DE/etc.... forget about it.

Happens in the NHL every year. A 20 year old draftee is an old one.

They can stew for awhile anywhere they choose, when the big league calls, they can call them up.

Seems like it'd be pretty easy to just expand practice squad rosters to accommodate them.

Yeah, it would be even more of a rarity in the NFL for a kid to come straight out of HS and actually make an impact. But there are those once in a decade talents who might could pull it off. Regardless though, I think if you're 18 and have a skill/talent you should be allowed to profit from it.

It's not happening, folks. College stars have a tough time adjusting to the NFL. Therefore you know for a fact that a HS kid will have an even tougher hill to climb.

Baseball has it right. You want to declare for the MLB draft and sign a contract right out of high school? Go for it. You want to go to college beforehand? Go for it, but you're committed to college ball for at least three years. And a lot of those guys don't get full scholarships.

I'm a super rare occasion. Not everyone can go from HS to the NBA and become a superstar like me.

Totally agree. I'm just saying they should have that option. If there were a team that actually wanted to take a chance on a guy right out of HS, yet you force that kid to go to college for a few years before being allowed to gain employment.... that's not right IMO. Especially considering this is a game where your career can be over in the blink of an eye.

    That's not true at all.

If you go straight to the NFL and learn from the NFL as a back-up,practice squad, going up against NFL players. By the time you are 22,23 you know what it will take.

College football is not a development league, I'm sorry. You learn what your coach wants you to. People become system players more so then overall great players. The ones that do, become stars in the NFL.
