Most profoundly emotional ending to a modern series would be Six Feet Under.

Other shows I felt wrapped up very appropriately were:
    Breaking Bad
    Battlestar Galactica
    The Wire
    Boardwalk Empire

    Most ble ending:
    The Sopranos

    Most absurd endings:
    SOA
    Dexter

Shows that really never got to end:
    Deadwood
    Carnivale

I have an ending for The Walking Dead in my mind that I think would be cool. I'm sure whatever they do go with will be less epic..

It had a pretty nice ending especially considering it only ran for 1 season. Great show.

What is it? U gotta spill the beans.

That series is going to be one where they drag it on ad nauseum. it seems so much less structured... Like every season they start anew, instead of having a series-wide plot like BB... Seems like they just find a new person or two to kill each season, rinse and repeat.

But man, that first season was all-time good TV.

I watched it a couple years ago on Netflix.

I'm a fan of a lot of the guys who got their start from that show, so I wanted to check it out.

I enjoyed it, but I didn't think the finale was anything special.

Sucks they cancelled it so quickly... I remember seeing commercials for it when it first came on. Those were prime years for the Titans.

Without fleshing it out, during the current seasons they start cutting back and forth amongst scenes to a dude, tall lean late 20's something - who appears to have nothing to do with Rick's group. Doesn't seem to have a lot of undead around - if any.
Lives in downtown Atlanta and his daily routine involves attempting to befriend a wild dog, who like 'Two-socks' is reluctant to give in.
Over time he fully wins the dog over who now comes into his yard confinement to eat.
They pan to an outcropping shed that houses an undead female who is obviously getting riled. The man yells for her to shut up as he's writing the dog's new name on a food bowl..
    It spells "Rick"..
He whispers "I'm naming you after my dad.." then immediately yells "Shut up Judith" to the undead in the shed.
They pan around to show various keepsakes of the group now in the man's possession.. Darryl's crossbow, The katana etc.
It's clear that this is 13 or 14 years after any known referenced event in the show..
Carl picks up an old sheriff's hat stuffs it on his head and grabs a big blue steel 45 and walks silhouetted into the waning sun towards the shed… The last man on earth, alive or dead..
