Where is the "This show lost momentum three years ago" choice?

Yeah. They lost me in the middle of the governor storyline. I've heard it's gotten much better this season, but it would take something incredible to pique my interest anymore. Season 1 was so good. Season 2 it started going downhill and never truly recovered. Merle was one of the most intriguing characters.. And the brother storyline. Once Merle bit the dust, that was it for me, I think. I don't care about any of the other characters, and wouldn't care if any or all of them got eaten by zombies.

How many new camps do they have to run across, with evil dictators, until people stop caring? People still do, though. So to each their own, I just checked out when I concluded that it's going to be the same old song and dance with new faces, and a new major character to get killed in the last episode or 2.

Until I finish Daredevil and BCS season, there is no other story driven show that will get any viewing time from me.

Hate to say it but happens.

    Same with Game of Thrones.

I'm just now watching last season so I can be caught up for this coming season.

Man the first three seasons were so good and then it just lost direction.

Same with Mad Men. I loved the first four seasons of Mad Men, probably some of the best TV in 20 years but after that it was just over.

Sopranos stayed strong but I stopped watching and caught up for the finale. I did the same with Boardwalk Empire.

    Eventually shows lose me.

First 2.5 seasons of Arrow? Great TV.

It has been garbage ever since.

Never have seen any of those shows besides a few episodes of mad men.

But yeah.. So few shows know when to quit. Hard to think of many long running shows that were good from start to finish. Breaking bad is the only live action show that comes to mind for me. Simply because it always had a direction. Most shows just try to go indefinitely, until theyre forced to make it end.

Most good shows get bloated and worthless, and keep going solely for the ratings/paychecks. Even my favorites, like married with children.

The Walking Dead has highs and lows and is utterly silly, but I think they have done a good job of keeping it interesting. The first half of this season that premiered last fall was possibly the most intense stretch of the entire show. The whole half-season covered what 48 hours?
This half is no doubt intentionally slowed down as the pending carnage approaches..

@nickmsmith I understand losing interest halfway through The Governor....lots of viewers felt that conflict went on for waaaaaay too long. The result was that the next antogonist group was blown through in just a few episodes (Terminus). Much better pacing. Things also got better once She Of The Permanent "Who Farted?.." Look finally bit the big one (Andrea).

I'm really glad AMC decided to make the season finale 90 minutes. The extra 30 minutes of commercials are quite enjoyable.
