My uncle bought one of those from a vender at a flee market in Mexico
(we live very close to the border) , after buying that roku for about 100$ USD he pays 50 dollars a month for an "App" and is now watching his raiders every Sunday plus all of te other game. He's had since August and he hasn't missed a game since.

He swears by it and is not going back to cable or Direct tv.

For the Roku itself, I love it. Consistently ranks better than other streamers. I got the little stick which is the $40 version, but it does just fine. I'd be interested to know what app he uses.

@avvie . From what he explained to me is that he bought the roku 3 , and it needs a good internet connection (WIFI) and can be connected to any tv around the house. As for the app that he pays for , it is called "AXSTV".
He says that he gets movies and tv showes and live tv. BUT ... That some of the movies , showes , and live tv are in Spanish.
I did see the Titans - raiders game at his house and it was in English

So for the people that aren't tech savvy. the Roku receives the wifi, not the TV...correct? I have a Smart TV that can get wifi. I am sick of these cable bills. Roku seems to be the best choice right now.

Yes from what I've seen. The "roku" Has nothing to do with the tv itself , the one that my uncle has is a "roku3" and it is wireless (there's a newer one roku4), he just has to configure it with the wifi network and that's pretty much it.
He took it to my Dads house last weekend so that we could watch the games on Sunday. All he brought with him was the device it's remote control and a HDMI cable. He just asked my Dad for his wifi password and then connected the roku with the HDMI cable to the tv and that's it.
Of course we HAD to watch the stupid raiders game but he was flipping to the other games. We wanted to see the Falcons broncos game.

He paid 100 dollars for the roku3 ( he bought it configured ) and pays 50 a month for the "app" that he uses, it's called "AXSTV". That's all he uses non of the other apps or anything just that one.
But again he bought it at a Mexican flee market so ... Not much else to say but since August he's been watching his raiders play including preseason , and we live in southern Texas just a stones throw away from Mexico
    (literally).

My Dad went on to see the prices of the roku and it's pretty much what my uncle paid. About 100$ , the difference is that my uncle paid that much for his and bought it "configured" with the AXSTV app. Not sure what that really means , all that it tells me is that he is watching his team for 50 bucks a month and he's happy.
