    it was, I'm rewatching the game right now

    "when a review changes the call on the field in last 2 minutes, a 10 second runoff must occur by rule"

    so we still got penalized a timeout for a bad call by refs

    bad rule

    I don't get this though. The refs overturn calls all the time under 2 minutes and i don't recall this happening. Isn't that the whole point of refs reviewing under 2 minutes?

    How is this not more talked about?

    The Titans were forced to use a Time Out to avoid a 10 second Run Off. The Ref stated this when he came back after the review to announce that Mariota wasn't past the line of scrimmage when he tossed the ball.

    I'm also confused about why we were "punished" for the Ref's muffing up a call? It didn't matter that much last night because we had a nice lead on the Jags, but if the game was closer and we really needed our time outs, that could have been a disaster.

    We had to call a timeout because he got tackled in the field of play. The clock would have kept running. A TO is normally what you call with little time left on the clock. When it was decided the play was legal, then the clock would have started. It is still problematic that the rule states that under one minute there must be a 10 second run off when play is stopped. In this case it did not hurt us, but if we had been out of TO's it could have. If the play had been caught in bounds and run out of bounds then it would be very unfair to have to use a TO.

    Yeah that rule is terrible. I also didn't like the personal foul call on Lewan late in the game for talking smack ALONG with the other Jags player......League is getting pussified....Made a good clean run, they were frustrated, players jawing in the heat of the moment, and we get an F ing foul for talking smack....It's unreal. Might as well just have robots playing.

    Who knows if we would have called a Time Out or not. If the game was a lot closer, and the penalty wasn't called, who knows if the Titan's would have downed the ball in less than 10 seconds.... Just saying...
