If we're basing every prospect off college stats then we should draft Patrick Mahomes and flip Marcus Mariota for more picks.

    Lmao, let's draft a back-up tight end with the 5th overall pick, he runs a 4.5 40 at 6'6!

Man, Al Davis would fit right in this forum.

Agreed. Every draft is different. Just because it's the 5th pick doesn't mean anything to me. If he is at the top of your board when your pick comes around why pass on him? People keeping saying a TE is a reach at 5 but come draft night when we are up im curious if those same people are still going to stick to that stance when they see the list of players that are left.

If we draft Howard at 5 I can almost guarantee he won't be playing in a backup role.

If deemed 100% healthy, Lattimore is a no-brainer, IMO. But that's far from a certainty with what we know.

    Hopefully, the Titans do though.

But with news of Dodd's issues, there's a concern for me that the Titans have the right people evaluating such things. Do the Titans also have outside consultants who also evaluate medical conditions? If any doubt, I don't think you take him at #5.

lmao, I can guarantee you he will be. He's not seeing more playtime than Delanie barring injury, we're looking at around 50% of snaps tops. That's probably not even enough to pick at 18, much less 5.

I'm not saying he will jump Walker on the depth chart but he will get snaps like a starter

I know it's shocking, but you can play more than 1 TE at a time... And OJ has receiver skills. Could easily have them both out there at the same time and play OJ in the slot or split him out with DW inline.

If we take OJ (regardless of draft spot), I'd expect he gets well over 50% of the offensive snaps by year end.

I don't want oj at 5 at all, but he would most certainly get more than 50% of the snaps if we draft him, hell any te would. Walker is super versatile and can line up in the backfield, on the line, in the slot and out wide. Throw in the fact that our wrs are trash, it'll be very easy to get any recieving threat pt on our team.

Lol, OJ has receiver skills? So he can sit there and break press coverage, because he last I checked he can't. Stop reading into your combine BS (he's 6'6 4.5, so did the great DG-B), and look at some actual skill. I'm very familiar with how we run our offense as well, that's why he would be getting 50% of the snaps. A normal #2 TE isn't getting nearly that much. There's only so many TE sets we can run, and we already run it a ton. Snaps are limited, and even more so when you are competing with a fellow Pro Bowl tight end for them. He's not getting #1 TE snaps without cutting into Delanie's load which bring about another problem.

If we want to win a Super Bowl, we don't play that game.

As already said, not enough to go around. He's not getting the 80%+of snaps that Gronk, Olsen, and Kelce get, at least without cutting into Walker's load. We don't have the luxury to draft our second tight end with the 5th overall pick. We have way too many holes on this football team to be making luxury picks like that one.
